Dianne R. Turnball

  Dianne R. Turnball, 63, Woodstock, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born May 29, 1948, in Waverly, Iowa, to Robert and Mildred (Fuerstenberg) Turnball.  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Bull Valley Country Club, 1311 Club Road, Woodstock. George W. Punzio

  George W. Punzio, 82, Wonder Lake, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Care Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital, Woodstock. He was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Chicago to Frank and Mary (Marzano) Punzio.He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea.  He was a resident of Wonder Lake since 1980.  He was employed by the city of Crystal Lake, worked in security for Union Special and drove a bus for PACE. Barbara Ann Sherwin

  Barbara Ann Sherwin, 84, Harvard, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Care Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital, Woodstock. She was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Riley to Fred and Ruth (Carlson) McCue. On Sept. 15, 1947, she married Wayne L. Sherwin at the First United Methodist Church, Marengo. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harvard. She was a Lady of the Moose Lodge in Harvard and served with McHenry County, Seneca and Grange chapters. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Dunham Homemakers Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid Chicago Bulls and Cubs fan. Survivors include a son, Sidney (Ann) Sherwin; a

Hazel M. Hickey

  Hazel M. Hickey, 86, Rockford, formerly of Woodstock, died April 19, 2012 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, Rockford.  She was born June 3, 1925, in Boscobel, Wis., to John W. and Freda O. (Collins) Clark. On June 20, 1953, she married John E. Hickey in Woodstock. She was a member of Woodstock’s First United Methodist Church and also was  a member of the VFW Post 5040 Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include a daughter, Julie (Mark) Brenner; and three grandchildren, Mark (April) Brenner Jr., Andrew (Samantha) Brenner and Jessica Brenner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nov. 26, 1982; and a brother, Richard Clark. All services were private.

Theresa Jane Morgan

  Theresa Jane Morgan, 91, Woodstock, formerly of Carpentersville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Hearthstone Manor Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 23,1920, in Halder, Wis., to John and Margaret (Hughes) Kurtzweil. On May 18, 1940, she married Joseph A. Morgan. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and gathering her family together. Survivors include two sons, Joseph (Janice) Morgan and Patrick (Linda) Morgan; two daughters, Esther (Richard) Tye and Pamela Fallon; six grandchildren, Diane (Richard) Zapata, Tracy (Kevin) Stephens, Kristina Fallon, Steven Fallon, Rebecca Morgan and Michael Morgan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Carolyn A. Walters

  Carolyn A. Walters, 56, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at home. She was born Oct. 8, 1955, in Woodstock to James Brady and Peggy Brady Plimmer. She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1974. She worked for the McHenry County Government Center as a secretary in the clerk’s and treasurer’s offices. In 2001 she and her husband, Steven Walters, who she met in high school, purchased Woodstock’s Edgetown Bowl. She was a driving advocate of Youth Bowling, City Recreation Bump and Bowl, Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NIRSRA) and Special Education District of McHenry (SEDOM) programs. Survivors include her husband of 37 years; two sons, Jason Walters and Chadwick Walters; a daughter, Megan (Steven) Schumacher; a grandson, Kasen Joseph

Diane R. Turnball

Ronald R. Berg

Ronald R. Berg, 78, Wonder Lake, died Monday, April 9, 2012, in the Inpatient Unit of Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, Barrington. He was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Chicago to Raymond E. and Amanda M. (Linn) Berg. On Aug. 24, 1957, he married Nancy M. Graham in Park Ridge. He was a resident of Wonder Lake for 51 years and a member of the Teamsters Union for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1960 with the Airborne Squadron.He was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge 1329. Wayne R. Greis

  Wayne R. Greis, 69, Woodstock, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. He was born Sept. 24, 1942, in Chicago to Raymond Julius and Lorraine (Rietschel) Greis. On July 26, 2003, he married Kathy Koltz. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1970, stationed at Fort Bougival, France.  He served in the 12th Special Forces Reserves.He was an active member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge No. 1329. He worked in security for Morton Chemical Company. An avid fisherman, he invented a fishing tool called the Hooker. Survivors include his wife; his mother; his children, Jodie Greis, Michele Crosswhite and Katie (Brett) Aulwes and Chad Wille; two sisters, Jeanne Greis and Judy (Jim) Bujniewicz;

Shelley R. Stoddard

  Shelley R. Stoddard, 52, Woodstock, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at her home. She was born in Peru, Illinois, May 9, 1959, to Ronald and Dee (Opsal) Moerdick. She attended Crystal Lake Central High School. She was a waitress for more than 10 years at The Breakers Restaurant in Crystal Lake. Survivors include a son, Joey (Alisha) Stoddard, Marengo; two daughters, Katie Stoddard, Cherry Valley,  and Kelly Stoddard, Crystal Lake; her mother, Reno; two brothers, Chuck (Mary) Moerdick and Kevin (Sue) Moerdick, Reno; a sister, Diane (Marc) Giovannoni; and Paul Stoddard. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorial Mass was held April 10 at the Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Memorials would be appreciated.
