Mary Jane O'Neil

Mary Jane O’Neil, 67, Wonder Lake, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at her home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1945, in Shoemaker, Calif., to Leslie V. and Mary Cecelia (Maestas) Lahmon. 

On Aug. 6, 1983, she married Charles M. O’Neil in Wonder Lake.

A resident of Schaumburg for 12 years, Mary had lived in Wonder Lake for the past 36 years. She was employed as a sales clerk at Farm & Fleet in Woodstock for seven years. She also worked in the medical records department at Mercy Medical in Barrington for seven years.

Mary loved organizing parties and get-togethers with family and friends, especially on holidays. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed rides in the country with her husband on their Gold Wing motorcycle. She also enjoyed the companionship of her dachshunds, Snapple and Trixie.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years; two daughters, Sandra (Bill) Damon, Durand, and Cindy (Jef) Good, German Valley; a son, Justin (Heather) O’Neil, Hampsted, N.H.; five granddaughters, Jessica Good, Champaign, Jaci and Jenna Damon, Durand, and Chloe and Charlotte O’Neil, Hampsted; and a sister, Linda Stevens, Springfield, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation and the funeral service were June 8 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, McHenry.

Interment was June 9.
