Marion J. (Dannen) Neville

Marion J. (Dannen) Neville, 90, Richardson, Texas, formerly of DeForest, Wis., died Aug. 5, 2012. She was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Renville, Minn., to Ahlrich and Christine (Schneider) Dannen. She grew up on a farm in Renville County. On June 26, 1940, she married Kenneth H. Neville. In 1948, she moved to Woodstock with her husband, where they lived until 1969. She was past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and was involved with the Order of the Eastern Star for many years.   She was active in First United Methodist Church, Woodstock, and Christian Faith Moravian Church, DeForest, Wis. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and fishing trips to northern Minnesota with her husband and family.

Nicholas Powell

Nicholas Powell, newborn, McHenry, died Aug. 12, 2012, at the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. He was born Aug. 12, 2012, in Barrington, to Brian and Monica (Johnson) Powell. Survivors include his parents; maternal grandfather, Edward (Penny Zimmerman) Johnson, Woodstock; maternal grandmother, Diane (Gary) Sahs, Woodstock; paternal grandfather, Bill Powell, Sharon, Wis.; paternal grandmother, Diane (Sam) Mangia, Hampshire; two great-grandmothers, Mary Lee Klabunde, Woodstock, and Irene Savino, Elgin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial gathering of friends and relatives was held Aug. 18 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. All other services were privately held.

Marianne Elaine Janssen Herbst Hollingsworth

Marianne Elaine Janssen Herbst Hollingsworth, 83, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Chicago, to Edward and Ruby (Janssen) Herbst.  She married Roy Hollingsworth in Chicago. She was a proud graduate of Lake View High School in Chicago.  After marrying, she and her husband moved to the Wonder Lake White Oaks Bay subdivision in 1957.  She was one of the top school bus drivers for Woodstock School District 200 for more than 28 years, and was known to her co-workers as “High Pockets.”  She was noted for her performances at bus rodeos, where she brought home prizes for her driving skills.  She also was known

Albert T. Burke

Albert T. Burke, 43, Wonder Lake, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at his home.  He was born Dec. 25, 1968, in Arlington Heights to Timothy and Christine Burke. Survivors include his wife, Janice (Novak); a son, Trey T. Burke-Nielsen;  four stedaughters, Kristy, Elizabeth and Meridith Olson and Michelle (Randolph) Wright; a stepson, John Olson; stepgrandchildren, Preston Olson and Kaelem Wright; and two brothers, Raymond and Michael Burke. The visitation and funeral were Aug. 10 at Zion Lutheran Church, McHenry. Services were arranged by Meadows Funeral Home, Rolling Meadows.

Alice Marie Walsh

Alice Marie Walsh, 77, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock. She was born Nov. 25, 1934, in unincorporated McHenry County to Everett and Dorothy Lusz. She was a gracious wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She  enjoyed lunch with her friends at her favorite restaurant. She also enjoyed horses and never missed a bull-riding event on TV. She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo.  She retired from Arnolds Engineering, Marengo, after 41 years. Survivors include three sons, Mike Billings, John (Angela) Walsh and Paul Walsh;  a daughter, Cynthia Billings; four grandchildren, Thomas and Ruger Walsh, Shannon Billings and Taylor

H.E. 'Sonny' Yeargin Jr.

H.E. “Sonny” Yeargin Jr., 80, Woodstock, formerly of Urbana, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, Barrington. He was born Dec. 3, 1931, in Nashville, Tenn., to H.E. and Margaret Yeargin. On June 17, 1954,  he married Edna M. Tenbrook in Urbana.  He attended Champaign Central High School after his discharge from the U.S. Navy. His career in mechanics spanned six decades in the Champaign/Urbana area.  He owned Sonny’s Towing Service in Urbana, as well as a service station and auto repair shop, for many years. He was an avid golfer and, after his retirement, was a ranger during summers at two local golf courses.  He loved racing, especially stock cars. He was a

Eileen C. Kulisek

Eileen C. Kulisek, 85, McHenry, formerly of Woodstock, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at her home . She was born June 27, 1927, in Cicero, to Fred and Inez (Hemerlin) Kuiper.   On June 30, 1945, she married Lloyd E. Kulisek Sr. in Downers Grove. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Woodstock, singing in the choir and serving as a trustee. She was a charter member of the Woodstock Chapter of Sweet Adelines, a member of the District 10 school board and a member of Emegency Citizens Band Monitors of Woodstock, the Weather Auxiliary Reporting Network and the Telecom Pioneers.  She was a girl scout leader, was active in the local 4-H program, PTA and Music

Jeannette Latham

Jeannette Latham, 92, Hebron, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Centegra HospitalWoodstock. She was born May 28, 1920,  in Hebron to Arthur and Ethel (Turner) Cornue. A lifetime resident of Hebron, she graduated from Hebron High School in 1938 and Blackburn College in 1940. On June 29, 1946, she married Arthur “Red” Latham in Hebron.  She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church for more than 65 years, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was  president of the United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the Hebron American Legion Auxiliary. She also was an avid reader and loved music, theater, movies and plays.  Survivors include a daughter, Barb (Dan) Slavin, Woodstock; four grandchildren, Patrick (Melissa)

Jennifer Rebecca Butts

Jennifer Rebecca Butts, 40, Wonder Lake, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Evanston Hospital in Evanston. She was born Sept. 20, 1971, in Arlington Heights to Camiel and Christine Ann (Walinski) Van Durme. On June 7, 2002, she married Darwin Butts in Woodstock. A homemaker for many years, she also worked in food service for Woodstock School District 200 at Woodstock North High School. She attended Willow Creek Church in Crystal Lake. Family was the most important thing in her life, and she regularly put the needs of family and friends ahead of her own. She was active with girls baseball at Jacobson Park in Wonder Lake and worked tirelessly for the Animal Outreach Humane Society in McHenry and Crystal

M. Pauline Perry

M. Pauline Perry, 72, Hartland, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her home. She was born April 19, 1940, in Boston, Mass.  On July 2, 1971, she married Louis Perry in Chicago. She loved working with crafts and especially enjoyed quilting.  She exchanged patterns with people all over the world.  She loved reading and animals.  She took a great interest in helping youth and was a youth sponsor at Bloomingdale Baptist Church.  She had an active interest in the lives of her extended family members. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Melanie Scaman, Tennessee, Tina Rendon, Woodstock, and Lora (Wayne) Prigge, Huntley; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Travis) Miller, Christopher (Sandra) Scaman, Matthew (Megan) Scaman, Daniel Perry and Miquela Perry; nine great-children;
