Trust the Torch!

Patti Stofferahn

Patti Stofferahn, 51, Woodstock, died Sept. 12, 2012, surrounded by family, following a brave battle with ovarian cancer.

She was a Chicago Cubs fan who loved to hear the broadcasts of Harry Caray and Ron Santo while she rooted for her favorite first baseman, Mark Grace.

She also liked Winnie the Pooh and made him a constant presence in the raising of her children.

Despite many struggles since being diagnosed with cancer more than five years ago, she never let her cancer diagnosis diminish her sense of humor. Her strength and courage will continue to be an inspiration for both family and her many friends.

Survivors include two sons, Justin and Ryan; a brother, Tim (Cindy) Cook; a sister, Kris (Bob) Calvert; her parents, Gerald and Marlene Cook; an aunt, Sandy McCarthy; several cousins; and a companion for many years, a cat, Sammy.

A funeral service will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7,  at The United Church of Sandwich at 512 Lions Road, Sandwich.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. with the service beginning at 3 p.m.

Memorials can be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oak Lawn Ave., Suite 435, Dallas, TX 75219 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
