Stephen Carl Amraen, 61, Woodstock, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born Nov. 3, 1950, in Chicago to John C. and Rita V. (Pietrowski) Amraen.
On Dec. 26, 1975, he married Monica Daum in Chicago.
He was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock.
He worked as an accountant for the Internal Revenue Service. He also was active with the American Youth Soccer Organization for many years, serving on the board as well as coaching. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Stephen Amraen; four sisters, Sandra (Charles) Scott, Janet (Michael) Martorano, Marsha (Pat McGuire) Amraen and Laurie Seaman; two brothers, David (Denise) Amraen and John (Linda) Amraen; many brothers- and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ellen Amraen; and a brother-in-law, Barry Seaman.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, and Thursday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home,Woodstock. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock.
Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.
