George Orlo Meyers
George Orlo Meyers, 65, Johnsburg, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at his home. He was born March 31, 1952, to George Carl and Mary Ann (Brown) Meyers in Woodstock, and was the youngest of two children. Also known by “Roscoe” and “Bubba,” he was remarkably charismatic, deeply caring, had a magnetic personality and an extraordinarily generous heart. He graduated from Marian High School and attended Robert Morris College and Rock Valley College, preparing for his career as a federal firefighter, from which he retired as a captain, an EMT and a paramedic.
