The family of Jane Dahm will celebrate and remember her life with an open house on what would have been her 90th birthday. The event will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at First Presbyterian Church of Woodstock, 2018 N. Route 47. She passed away Nov. 24, 2020.
Vanessa Busse, age 34, of Woodstock, passed away July 13, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born on Sept. 17, 1986, in Libertyville, the daughter of Allan and Shirley (Kusch) Busse. She married Andrew Rank June 9, 2017. Vanessa enjoyed many sports throughout her life, and she was proud to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award. She enjoyed watching the Cubs and playing on both a volleyball league and many soccer games. She enjoyed being around animals and loved all of her fur babies. Hazel Marie Kniebusch, 96, of Woodstock, passed away July 14, 2021, in Huntley, Ill. She was born in 1924 to Frank and Madaline (Lang) Beilke in Woodstock at the home of her grandparents Olive and Will Lang. She attended Woodstock grade schools and graduated with the class of 1942 from Woodstock Community High School. On April 11, 1943, she was married to William “Bill” Kniebusch in the First United Methodist Church in Woodstock by the Rev. Merle English. Hazel was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Woodstock, being confirmed in 1937. She sang in the church choir for 40 years, taught Sunday School, served on the Board of Trustees and other church committees, and was president

Walter G. Price, 72, of Woodstock, Ill., died Sunday, July 4, 2021, at home. Born May 22, 1949, in Chicago, the son of Albert G. and Walena (Chenery) Price, Walter married June M. White on Nov. 24, 2000, in Richmond, Ill. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Sgt. Walter Price served in California as an honor guard member. After his honorable discharge, he was a member of the American Legion in Carrizo Springs, Texas. Walt was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 142. He enjoyed puzzles, reading a lot, was talented at handy work, and was a Cubs fan. Ray L. “Bud” Oughton Jr., 88, of Woodstock, passed away on Thursday June 24, 2021, at his home in Woodstock. He was born in Fort Atkinson, Wis., on Oct. 2, 1932, to Ray L. and Lucille (Darling) Oughton Sr. He married Barbara Dunlap on July 2, 1960, in Woodstock. Bud was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a talented Mr. Fix It, and especially enjoyed woodworking and woodcarving. He served on the board of directors for The Adult and Child Therapy Center and was the handyman around the center, volunteering many hours. He was named an “Everyday Hero” by the Northwest Herald. Michael Francis Engelhardt, 74, of Woodstock, passed away on June 23, 2021, at his home in Woodstock in the loving arms of his wife, Kay. He was born in Vöcklabruck, Austria, on June 27, 1946, to Sebastian and Barbara (Kaiser) Engelhardt. He married Karen Kay Grant on Dec. 4, 1971. Mike (or Spike, to friends and relatives) was fun-loving, had an easy-going spirit, and a great sense of humor. He loved bowling, golf, fishing, horseshoes, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, music (especially oldies rock), and all of the Chicago sports teams.
