Walter G. Price, 72

Walter G. Price, 72, of Woodstock, Ill., died Sunday, July 4, 2021, at home.

Born May 22, 1949, in Chicago, the son of Albert G. and Walena (Chenery) Price, Walter married June M. White on Nov. 24, 2000, in Richmond, Ill.

A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Sgt. Walter Price served in California as an honor guard member. After his honorable discharge, he was a member of the American Legion in Carrizo Springs, Texas.

Walt was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 142. He enjoyed puzzles, reading a lot, was talented at handy work, and was a Cubs fan.

Walter is survived by his wife; son, Matthew Price; grandchildren, Josett, Lance, Victoria, Lexi, Quinn, Lilly and Abbie; and siblings, Alberta Leahy, Roger Price, Joyce Redinger, and Thomas Price.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Rex Price; and sister, Jennifer Schultz.

Memorials can be made to the Congregational Church of Jefferson Park, (5320 W Giddings St, Chicago, IL 60630, 773-725-0121, ccjpucc.org/), where he had been a member.

Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Olson’s Cooper Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, with a visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Burial with military honors will be at Genoa Township Cemetery.

The family extends special thanks to the staff and doctors at Accord Hospice, and to Woodstock Fire Station 3.
