Francis J. Dougherty

  Francis ‘Frank’ J. Dougherty, 64, Woodstock, formerly of Allentown, Pa., died Thursday, May 12, 2012. He was born Sept. 28, 1947, to Leo and Pauline Dougherty. On May 11, 1985, he married Anke Jessen Dougherty. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a Corvette enthusiast, construction superintendent, animal lover and avid cook. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his mother, Allentown, Pa.; his wife, Woodstock; four children, Patrick (Jennifer) Dougherty, Colleen (Cullen) Bailey, Kelly Dougherty and Brenden Dougherty; four grandchildren, Nickolas Dougherty, Lillian, Odin and Eleanor Bailey; and several aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. The visitation and memorial service were May 18 at Grace Lutheran Church, Woodstock. Memorials

Irma Kunath

  Irma Kunath, 88, Wonder Lake, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Inpatient Hospice Unit of Centegra Specialty Hospital-Woodstock. She was born Aug. 28, 1923, to Hermann and Emma (Klatt) Penno. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodstock. Survivors include a son, Gary Kunath; and a daughter, Angie Kunath. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Hermann and Siegmund; and two sisters, Herta and Wilma. The visitation was May 16, at Schenider-Leucht- Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home and May 17, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, followed by the funeral service. Rev. Harold Ross officiated. Phillip E. Brady

  Phillip E. Brady, 67, Woodstock, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock.  He was born July 30, 1944, in Woodstock, to Michael and Margaret (Maguire) Brady. He married Joyce Remus May 5, 1973,     in Woodstock. He owned the Day and Night Plumbing Company for 25 years. He retired from the company in 1999 and worked as a plumbing inspector until his retirement in 2006. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Brady, Woodstock; a daughter, Donna (Philip) Zaleski; a grandchild, Ella Zaleski; and nieces and nephews, Ann (Andre Bowdry) Brady, Ellen Brady Mueller, Mary (Tom) Edwards and Seanine (B.J.) Thomas Dale Stewart

  Thomas Dale Stewart, 85, Woodstock, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock. He was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Chicago, to Albert and Eleanor Wheeler. On April 27, 1956, he married Regina Slattery in Chicago. From 1970 until 1984, he and his wife owned and operated Stewarts Cleaners in Woodstock. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.  He was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping with his family and his retirement years in Arizona and Florida. Alex Misurelli

  Alex Misurelli, 90, Crystal Lake, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock. He was born April 29, 1922, in Chicago, to Louis J. and Mary (Urbanski) Misurelli.  On June 12, 1948, he married Barbara Cecelia Kreuser at St. Viator Church in Chicago. He graduated from Foreman High School.  He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942 and served until 1946 as a corporal in the South Pacific during World War II in the battles of Tarawa, Saipan and Okinawa.  He was wounded June 18, 1944, while delivering a message warning of an enemy counterattack and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Clarence Smith

  Clarence Smith, 70, Wonder Lake, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Care Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock.  He was born Sept. 13, 1941,  in Manila, Ark., to Judd and Tinie (Grimsley) Smith.   On Nov. 4, 1961, he married Delores Bauman in Harvard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, water skiing and gardening.   He worked at the Woodstock Die Casting Company for 19 years until the plant closed. He also worked at Walmart for 12 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially children. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Everett Moore; and many nieces and nephews. Vida M. Schneiderman

  Vida M. Schneiderman, 93, Woodstock, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Care Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock. She was born May 19, 1918, in Estelline, S.D., to George and Amanda (Miesel) Mohan. On Oct. 13, 1936, she married Harm Schneiderman in South Dakota. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and auto racing. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd (Judith) Schneiderman and LeRoy (JoAnn) Schneiderman; a daughter, Evelyn (Al) Schneiderman; two daughters-in-law, Jean and Janet; a sister-in-law, Pearl Mohan; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Margo Monteau

Margo (Poston) Monteau, 92, Woodstock, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Autumn Leaves Assisted Living, Crystal Lake. She was born May 27, 1919, in Columbus, Ohio. On Jan. 6, 1945, she married Levi “Monty” Monteau in Livermore, Calif. She worked for Consolidated Aircraft  in San Diego where she met her husband. They lived in many cities around the United States. She moved to Illinois in 2009. Survivors include a son, David (Rebecca) Monteau; a daughter, Susan Kleinhans; four grandchildren, Laura Jones, Monty (Amy) Monteau, Phillip Monteau and Zachariah Rayburn; and a great-grandson, Ben Jones. Florence E. Pedretti

Forence E. Pedretti, 79, Wonder Lake, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Springs at Crystal Lake. She was born April 22, 1933, in Chicago to Victor and Mary (Ceolla) Pedretti. She worked at Oaks Manufacturing in Crystal Lake as an assembler and eventually became a supervisor.  She was a great cook and family caretaker. Survivors include a sister, Geraldine (Gerald) Niemo; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Pedretti.  She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Helen Duncan, Irma Fleming, Delores Lazalde, Ann Smialak, Rita Suberla and Victoria Smola; and two brothers, Mark and Victor. Paul R. Reding Jr.

  Paul R. Reding Jr., 21, Wonder Lake, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Wonder Lake. He was born April 25, 1990, in New Haven, Conn., to Paul R. and Kimberly (Franklin) Reding Sr. He played football for the McHenry Jr. Warriors Football Program. He was a graduate of McHenry High School-West Campus and had attended McHenry County College. He was employed in shipping and receiving at Northstar Stamping, Lake in the Hills. Survivors include his father, Paul (Denise Sonnemann) Reding Sr.; his mother, Kimberly Franklin; and a sister, Lauren Reding. Visitation was April 27 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, McHenry.
