William “Billy” J. Wedoff

William “Billy” J. Wedoff, 52, Sterling, formerly of Woodstock, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at  Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock. He was born Oct. 6, 1960, in Woodstock to Eugene J. and Dorothy H. (Gerleve) Wedoff. The family would like to thank the staff and caretakers at Exceptional Care and Training Center, Sterling, for many years of loving care, as well as the staff at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois for their services. Survivors include his mother, four brothers, Eugene (Peggy) Wedoff, Steven (Linda) Wedoff, Gary (Denise) Wedoff and Paul Wedoff; three sisters, Christine (Leo) Riley, Barbara (Larry) Durso and Mary Krager; and 16 nieces and nephews. Lucille M. Angelo

Lucille M. Angelo, 91, Woodstock, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Hearthstone Manor, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in St. Louis to Robert and Lillian (McCarthy) Bryant. On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Jim Angelo.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, ceramics, bridge and painting, gardening, music and dancing. Her greatest pleasure was her family.  When her husband retired they traveled across the United States.  She was a Eucharist minister with St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Crystal Lake, and was employed at Piggly Wiggly and also part time at the Village Resale Shop until she retired.  Survivors include a daughter, Pat Fitzgerald, Woodstock; two sons, Joe (Young Ku) Angelo, California, and Jim (Sue) Angelo,

Angeline “Angie” Statz Bauer

Angeline “Angie” Statz Bauer, 92, Madison, Wis., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. She was born July 5, 1920, in Waunakee, Wis., to Louis and Catherine (Acker) Statz. On May 15, 1943, she married George Bauer in Madison. She was third oldest of nine children. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Madison, and was active in the ladies guild. She enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, playing cards and refinishing furniture. She was known for her boundless energy and generous hospitality and she was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking.  Her greatest joy was sharing her baked goods with others. Survivors include three daughters, Georgia (Bill) Gehrmann, Lake Geneva, Wis., Kathy (Steve) Brincefield, Richmond, Va., and Lorna Wolff, Woodstock; a

Thomas A. Stone

Thomas A. Stone, 60, Woodstock, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Florence Nursing Home, Marengo, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born Jan. 16, 1953, in Woodstock to Charles and Mary F. (Horick) Stone. He was one of a small group of developmentally disabled people whose parents founded what would evolve into Pioneer Center For Human Services. He graduated from Special Education District of McHenry County in Woodstock in 1974 and attended Pioneer Center’s workshop in McHenry for the next 34 years. He was a gentle and sweet man who loved traveling, going to movies and going out to eat. Richard Joseph Sivewright

Richard Joseph Sivewright, 76, Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Woodstock, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Chicago to Joseph Edward and Florence Parquette Sivewright. He grew up in Woodstock, attended Michigan State University and spent more than 30 years in the restaurant business. He worked for Fred Harvey Restaurants at Chicago’s Union Station and at Kentucky Fried Chicken, where he was vice president and general manager for 20 years. He was appointed an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He also was a member of the Charlotte County volunteer police, was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing. He moved to Port Charlotte seven years ago, from the Maryland Eastern Shore.

James A. Ogle Jr.

James A. Ogle Jr., 90, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at home. He was born June 24, 1922, in Woodstock to James A. “Del” and Dorothy (Knaack) Ogle. He married Grace M. Ackerman and later, Gloria Jean Perdue. He attended Chicago Technical College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He built his own home where he lived with his family for more than 55 years. He served in World War II with the 459th Bomb Group as a squadron leader in the Army Air Corps Reserve. He flew four-engined B-24 Liberator Bombers and received the Distinguised Flying Cross and Air Medal.  During the Korean conflict, he worked with the Mid-Central Air Procurement Office as a

Ryan Timothy Neal

Ryan Timothy Neal, 28, Woodstock, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. He was born April 8, 1984, in Champaign to Michael and Patricia (McCann) Neal. He enjoyed skateboarding, camping, fishing, music, drawing and singing karaoke.   He was a very generous and kindhearted person with a great sense of humor; his tremendous personality and entertaining nature always made people laugh.   He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends during the holidays every year and especially enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Landon. Survivors include his parents; a brother, Jason Neal; a nephew, Landon Neal; grandparents, Dan and Nancy McCann; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many wonderful friends. Thomas Francis McGovern

Thomas Francis McGovern, 58, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at John H. Stroger Hospital, Chicago.  He was born April 19, 1954, in Chicago to Robert F. and Rosemary (Kane) McGovern. Survivors include two brothers, Robert Francis McGovern and Michael Kane (Patricia) McGovern; a sister, Jule McGovern Foster; many nieces and nephews; a grand-niece, Sera Finn Rose; and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Timothy “ Jimmy” Francis McGovern; and a nephew, Patrick Timothy Foster. A memorial gathering of friends and relatives was Jan. 19 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Funeral and interment services were private. 

Kathleen A. Crandall

Kathleen A. Crandall 59, Woodstock, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock.  She was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Aurora to Robert and Dorothy (Neumann) Woodward.  On Dec. 29, 1977, she married Glenn Crandall in Woodstock.  She attended fourth through eighth grade at St. Mary School, Woodstock, and graduated from Woodstock Community High School in 1971. She loved to work in her garden, loved her family and always looked forward to family events. She was loved by many and will be missed. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jaime (Christopher) Ingeman and Kimberlin (Andrew) Reinhard; four grandchildren, Elysa, Joshua and Rachel Ingeman and Brennan Reinhard; her

Mary C. Stemm

Mary C. Stemm, 96, Woodstock, died  Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Hearthstone Manor Nursing Home, Woodstock. She was born Nov. 3, 1916, to Ignatius and Clara (Evvard) Goode.   On April 15, 1939, she married Joseph Stemm in Chicago. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret “Peg” (Mike) Sullivan and Mary C. “Cathy” (Gary) Eveland; eight grandchildren, Christine (Bruce) Merevick, Joseph (Akemi) Sullivan, John (Licca) Sullivan, Kate (Bill) Lawrence, Scott (Judy) Eveland, Todd Crummy, Brian (Tracy) Crummy and Jennifer Zingre; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A memorial gathering and Mass were  Jan. 19 at St.
