Angeline “Angie” Statz Bauer

Angeline “Angie” Statz Bauer, 92, Madison, Wis., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

She was born July 5, 1920, in Waunakee, Wis., to Louis and Catherine (Acker) Statz.

On May 15, 1943, she married George Bauer in Madison. She was third oldest of nine children.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Madison, and was active in the ladies guild.

She enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, playing cards and refinishing furniture.

She was known for her boundless energy and generous hospitality and she was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking.  Her greatest joy was sharing her baked goods with others.

Survivors include three daughters, Georgia (Bill) Gehrmann, Lake Geneva, Wis., Kathy (Steve) Brincefield, Richmond, Va., and Lorna Wolff, Woodstock; a son, Keith (Jodi) Bauer, Crested Butte, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Kerri (Eric) Johnson, Jason (Candy) Gehrmann, Matt and Stephanie Brincefield, Sara (Eric) Rossi, Noel (Melissa), Lindy and Nate Bauer; two sisters, Cathy (Don) Kruel and Laura Blakeslee; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Gehrmann and Peyton and Morgan Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four sisters, Marie, Gertrude, Sister Romana and Agnes; and two brothers, Eugene and James.

The funeral Mass was Jan. 26 at St. Peter Catholic Church.

Arrangements were made by Cress Funeral Home, Waunakee.
