Shirley Stolzke

Shirley Stolzke, 80, Woodstock, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Journeycare Hospice Inpatient Unit, Woodstock. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, to John and Marian (Wolf) Hanley in Woodstock.  On June 9, 1956, she married Arthur Stolzke. She loved to travel with her husband, especially trips to Las Vegas. She enjoyed garage sales and making crafts. Mostly she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Stolzke and Robert (Debbie) Stolzke; a daughter, Susan (Richard) Motley; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeanna Hughes, Jill (Jason) Zupansic, Angela (Mark) Brose, Tracy Motley, Heather (Ryan) Lamb, Lacey, Nicholas and Shannon Stolzke, Alexandra (Caleb) McConnell, Robert Barrios, Greg Uden and Brian Nowasky; and 15 great-grandchildren. Lynne Anderson

Lynne Anderson, 72, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at the JourneyCare Hospice Inpatient Unit, Woodstock, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 30, 1941, to Frank and Marie (Clam) Hurley in Chicago.   On Oct. 28, 1988, she married Lester Anderson in Paducah, Ky.  He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2009. Lynne enjoyed sewing and crafts.  She cherished the time she spent living on the farm with her husband.  Most of all, Lynne enjoyed spending time with her family. Kathryn Joyce McCormack

Kathryn Joyce McCormack, 80, Harvard, formerly of Woodstock, died Wednesday, Sept.10, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1934, to Irvin and Margaret (Rhodes) Berry in Sheffield, Ala. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1959.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like going shopping and going to garage sales. Family outings were cherished, her family always came first, but the love she had for her cats was a close second. Survivors include three children, Ronald (Jill) Youngblood, James (Emma) McCormack and Patricia (Chris) Lawrence; four grandchildren, Christopher and Bryan Youngblood and Melanie and Morgan Lawrence;

Clare Gabrielson

Clare Gabrielson, 85, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Lexington Health Care, Streamwood. She was born Dec. 7, 1928, to Christopher and Anna (Ahlers) Burg in Manitowoc, Wis.   On July 10, 1948, she married Tennes Gabrielson in Woodstock. He died in May 1978. She married Vernon Hanson in 1986, and they were together for more than 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock. She spent her adult life raising her children, and she used to say, “I was responsible for each and every one.”  She took great care creating a loving home for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marjorie M. Hansen

Marjorie M. Hansen, 92, Woodstock, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Hearthstone Manor, Woodstock. She was born Nov. 13, 1921, to Mark and Lulu (Francisco) Hutson in Woodstock.  On June 28, 1941, she married Clarence B. Hansen. She was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge, and she enjoyed gardening and yard work. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Goad; five grandchildren, Christopher (Jessie) Hansen, Vonnie Hansen, Amy (Bill) O’Brien, Carrie (Jamie) MacDonald and Katherine Krause; 11 great-grandchildren, Mollie, Mariah and Nicholas Hansen, Emma, Ava and Cameron MacDonald, Kylee and Connor Hansen and Cory, C.J. and Jocelyn Krause; two sisters, Hazel Harvey and Greta Carlisle; two sister-in-laws, Arleen Hutson and Alice Schillburg; and many nieces and nephews. Michelle A. Nordlof

Michelle A. Nordlof, 46, Chicago, died Aug. 26, 2014, at her home.   She was born Jan. 4, 1968, to William R. and Virginia A. (Schneider) Nordlof in Chicago.   She was a 1986 graduate of Crystal Lake Central.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University in 1990, a Master of Business Administration from Illinois Benedictine University in 1992 and a master’s degree in mechanical enginering from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2005. She managed the family business in Chicago for 24 years.  She loved dogs and scuba diving. Survivors include her parents, of Huntley; and a brother, Keith Nordlof. A gathering of friends and relatives was held Sept. 4 at the Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.

Martin Korving

Martin Korving, 88, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 8, 1925, to Kryn and Lena (Tapteski) Korving in Chicago. On Sept. 24, 1955, he married Magdalena Reif. He loved reading, especially anything that had to do with history. He also enjoyed gardening. He was always meticulous when it came to taking care of his tools and other possessions. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Korving and Martin Albert (Jenni) Korving; a daughter, Diana (Robert) Smithana; six grandchildren, Theodore R. Edwin Charles Corra, 91, McHenry, formerly of Wonder Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014. He was born Sept. 29, 1922, to Frederick and Stephanie (Jondura) Corra in Ogden, Utah, shortly before his parents returned to their home in Chicago.  On Oct. 30, 1943, he married Jean (Genevieve Szulczynski) at St. Mary Catholic Church, Des Plaines. He was a faithful member of St. Mary for the first 50 years of his life. He continued his faithfulness as he and his wife, Jean, relocated to Buffalo Grove, Sarasota, Fla., Venice, Fla., Wonder Lake and McHenry. Bessie Jean Hames, 72, Wonder Lake, formerly of Crystal Lake, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Sycamore. She was born Oct. 12, 1941, to John and Addy (Reeves) Morton in Petersburg, Tenn.  On Dec. 24, 1957, she married Jerold G. Hames in Petersburg. She worked at home raising children and running the household. She also enjoyed volunteering with the Crystal Lake Little League. She was loved and will be missed. Leah Emma MacDonald, 104, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at home in Woodstock, surrounded by her family.  She was born Dec. 21, 1909, to William and Hildegard (Jurries) Haffron in Hinckley .  On May 2, 1941, she married Raymond W. MacDonald.  She graduated from West Chicago Community High School in 1928. As a young woman, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Harry W. Kinnie for many years, helping deliver babies. Except for a stint living at Fort Benning, Ga., while her husband served in the Army during World War II, she lived in West Chicago for much of her life, enjoying her many friends and charitable endeavors.  She also took great pride in being the “First Lady of DuPage
