Woodstock and Woodstock North met for the Crosstown Classic Friday night, and it was defense that stole the show.

Woodstock North Girls volleyball won the crosstown match, and final regular season game, Wednesday night against the Woodstock Blue Streaks 2 – 0

Woodstock North and Sandwich entered the nights contest both with a 4-1 Kishwaukee River Conference record. The Thunder were looking to rebound from their first loss of the season against Richmond Burton last week and stay on top of the standings.

Woodstock North Girls volleyball continued their strong conference play with a win over the visiting Plano Reapers Wednesday night to move to 12-7 for the season and 8-1 in the conference.

Woodstock North started its homecoming festivities with a stroll around the Woodstock square and finished the night with a win over the Johnsburg Skyhawks.

Woodstock and Woodstock North High Schools met in a battle that went to penalty kicks to decide the match.
