John E. Bersch, 80

John E. Bersch, 80, of Sheboygan, Wis., passed into eternal life on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Sunny Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Sheboygan to Frank and Esther (Ries) Bersch. John attended St. Dominic Catholic Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the Class of 1955. John’s working years were mainly spent as a delivery truck driver. John loved music and had a rich bass voice. He sang with the Catholic Male Chorus and various church choirs and high school choruses and operettas. John also loved cars and knew the specs and reliability on almost every car ever manufactured. Harold Brough, 83

Harold Brough, 83, of Hawthorne, Fla., formerly Richmond and Woodstock, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at his home. He was born in Berwyn, Ill., on Feb. 27, 1935, a son of the late David and Judith (Havranack) Brough. He was married to Georgia Townsend on March 9, 1957, in Woodstock, and she passed away March 3, 2013. He served in the U.S. Army from February 1958 to January 1960. He was a member of VFW, American Legion, and Elks. He worked as a carpenter for several companies, retiring from Ashbach-Vanselow in Mundelein, Ill., after 30 years in November 1998. Cyndra L. Relue, 58

Cyndra L. Relue, 58, of Woodstock, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Northwestern Medicine Hospital-Huntley. She was born July 23, 1960, in Munich, Germany, to Paul and Peggy (Worm) Miotto. She was a graduate of Woodstock Community High School, where she played in the band. She participated in girls softball, and took some college courses at McHenry County College before beginning her career as a court clerk for Judge Arnold. She later worked at Sullivan Foods in Marengo. She loved camping at the family farm in Illinois and camping in Wisconsin. She especially loved her family, and they loved her. Gerald Eugene Farver, 88

Gerald Eugene Farver was born Feb. 17, 1930, to Jesse Guy and Addie Viola Farver on the farm in Franklin Grove Illinois. He passed away Oct. 19, 2018. He graduated from Ashton High School in 1948, and married Evelyn Rieken Feb. 10, 1951. They had twin boys born March 24, 1952, Kenneth and Keith, and divorced in January 1973. Gerald worked for Englewood Electric and Dixon Electronics and later owned Meadow Mart Car Wash in Loves Park, Ill., until retiring in 1992. He married Veva May Carr March 2, 1974, in Rockford, Ill. Ruth Ann Judson Simes Magnuson, 89

Ruth Ann Judson Simes Magnuson, 89, of Woodstock, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Centegra-Huntley Hospital. She was born in Hebron on July 3, 1929, to Clarence Leo and Jessie Henrietta (Kolls) Judson. She married George Henry Simes on June 11, 1949. After his tragic death in a plane crash in 1978, she married Lloyd Magnuson on May 25, 1996. With her high school diploma from Hebron and one year of teacher preparation at Northern Illinois State Teachers College (today’s NIU), Ruth Ann began her career in 1948 as one of the last one-room schoolteachers in McHenry County at North Dunham School in Harvard. Harry (Tony) Hennen Jr., 78

Harry A. (Tony) Hennen Jr., 78, formerly of Woodstock, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, of complications of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) at St. Cloud Hospital in Minnesota. Tony was born in Morris, Minn., to Harry and Rose (Murphy) Hennen. He was a veteran in the United States Army, serving for two years with some time spent in Germany. He was united in marriage to Phyllis (Papineau) in 1964. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at University of Minnesota and moved to Illinois in 1971. There he accepted his first position with Motorola, where he worked for 27 years, retiring as a Corporate Vice President. In moving to Woodstock in 1977, he fulfilled a dream of owning a farm with

June Elaine Miller, 87

June Elaine Miller, age 87, of Monroe, Wis., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on June 13, 1931, the daughter of George and Ida (Prehm) Landwehr in Bensenville, Ill. She was a 1949 graduate of Elgin High School in Illinois. June was united in marriage to David F. Miller on Nov. 23, 1951, in Bartlett, Ill. June worked at Elgin National Watch Factory before she was married. After getting married, June and her husband moved to Woodstock, Ill., where they lived from 1952-1976, when they moved to Monroe. June worked alongside David, taking care of their farm. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and was an excellent cook.

Vernon W. Woellert, 87, of Woodstock, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at JourneyCare Hospice Inpatient Unit in Woodstock. He was born in Woodstock on March 9, 1931, to Harry W. and Ella (Gehrke) Woellert. He married the love of his life, Sandra Shulfer, on May 24, 1980, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodstock. Vernon was a veteran in the United States Army, serving for two years with some time spent in Germany. He was a life member of the VFW Post 5040 in Woodstock. Patricia Rico, 46, of Woodstock, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico on Nov. 12, 1971, to Hipolito and Basilia (Ortiz) Beltran. She completed a certificate in accounting in Mexico. She later met and married Jose Rico on Dec. 26, 1992, in Mexico. Patricia was a loving mother, daughter, wife and friend. She worked as a cook at Hearthstone Communities Assisted Living in Woodstock and enjoyed baking delicious desserts for the residents. Judi Wett, 78, of Washington, Ill., formerly of Woodstock, Ill., passed away at 11:24 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 1, 1939, in Crystal Lake, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Dagmar (Dalby) Swanson. She married John K. Wett Sr. on Aug. 29, 1959, in Crystal Lake.
