Jack W. Sorensen, 85

Jack W. Sorensen, 85, of Woodstock, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Northwestern Hospital Woodstock.
He was born in Woodstock on April 5, 1933, to Wagner and Edna (Schwake) Sorensen. He married Betty Koplin on April 27, 1957.
Jack was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a loyal employee at the Woodstock Hospital for 37 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and wood crafting. He was loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 61 loving years, Betty Sorensen; two sons, David (Lori) Sorensen and Dan (Pam) Sorensen; four grandchildren, Hannah (Andy) Hawes, Jeremiah Sorensen, Dana Sorensen and Jacob Sorensen; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Eloise Hawes; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rick Sorensen; brother, Tom Sorensen; and a sister, Beverly Pepple.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday March 8, 2019, from 2:30 p.m. until the 6 p.m. memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road in Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Grace Lutheran Church 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road Woodstock, IL 60098 would be appreciated.
