Lillian Marie French

Lillian Marie French, 97, Woodstock, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013.  She was born June 6, 1916. Survivors include a daughter, Norma Hellstrom; grandchildren Richard (Patrice), Patter (Paul), Nancy Spangrud, Susan (David), Kate (Jeff) Davis and Thomas Hellstrom; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends in Woodstock.  A visitation was held at Heritage Funeral Home, Milwaukee, Wis. Interment will be at a later date at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.  Memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, IL 60098.

Doris C. Martine

Doris Cornelius Martine, 85, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the Villages of Wilkes, North Wilkesboro, N.C.   She was born Aug. 30, 1928, in Hopkinton, Iowa, to Frank and Clara Wilson. She was a gentle woman who enjoyed a hot cup of tea and visits from her friends and family. As a young girl, she helped bake pies in her mother’s restaurant. Later on, her family moved to Woodstock where she met her husband, William Martine, who had returned from serving in World War II. The couple had three sons, raising them in Woodstock, where she was a faithful, active member of her Lutheran church. Cheryl Lynn Jones

Cheryl Lynn Jones, 56, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at her home in Woodstock after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born April 20, 1957, in Harvard. She loved to sing and perform karaoke, travel, ride motorcycles and spend time with her family and friends. She significantly touched many lives and will be remembered for her love and kindness. Survivors include Kenneth Jones; their children Jessica Jones, Teri (Andy) Kolls and Tyler Jones; three grandsons, Owen, Kellan and Landon Kolls; her mother, Norma (Michael) Knutson-Shinrock; two sisters, Pam (Nick) Gray and Debra (Jeff) Nelson; her special companion, Dennis Behrens; special aunts, Carol Jenkins, Carol M. Robert E. “Bob” Kies Jr., 75

Robert E. “Bob” Kies Jr., 75, Woodstock, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born May 30, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Robert and Virginia (Turner) Kies. On Nov. 11, 1961, he married Anne Marie Stapleton in Hinsdale. He graduated from Loras Academy and the University of Dubuque. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a teacher and coached basketball, golf, football and baseball at Hempstead High School in Dubuque from 1971 to 1974.  He also worked at Beloit Catholic High School and Johnsburg High School. He was a teacher, athletic director and basketball coach at Quincy Notre Dame High School from 1981 to 1996.  While at Quincy, he led the

Ralph E. Thompson, 65, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Crossroads Care Center.  Arrangements were made by Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home.

Paul K. Pascal

Paul K. Pascal, 79, Wonder Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry. He was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Hoolehua, Molokai, Hawaii, to Benjamin and Amoy (Lau) Pascal.   On June 19, 1988, he married Mary A. Hanson, in Woodstock. He was raised in Hawaii and lived there as a young man before relocating to the Lake County area.  For the past 25 years, he was a resident of Wonder Lake. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Crane Full View Revolving Door Company in Lake Bluff and Waukegan. Lucille K. Heidenreich

Lucille K. Heidenreich, 87, Woodstock, died Thursday Dec. 5, 2013, at Centegra Hospital. She was born March 29, 1926, in Crystal Lake to William and Meta (Geske) Koch. On June 10, 1944, she married Delmar D. Heidenreich. Lucille was an election judge for Greenwood Township for more than 30 years. She was a homemaker and her hobbies included bingo at Marian Central High School and the Woodstock Moose Lodge. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee, crocheting and was a Cubs fan.  Survivors include a son Daniel (Vicky) Heidenreich; two daughters, Rhonda Hermanson and Janet (Charles) Weech; eight grandchildren, Tom and Jodi Hermanson, Tiffany and Allison Weech, Emily and Abigail Heidenreich and Sara and Cara Klabunde; and one great-grandchild, Mackenzie Hermanson. Arnold F. Hay

Arnold F. Hay, 95, Woodstock, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013.  He was born in 1918 in Spring Grove.  On Sept. 20, 1941, he married Genevieve Ober at St. Mary’s Church in McHenry. He was a World War II veteran, serving in New Caledonia, a Sergeant of 2nd Platoon, 584th Quartermaster. He was a member of  VFW Post 5040 in Woodstock, a former member of the Moose Lodge and a member of Carpenters Local 2087 in Crystal Lake.  Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kathy Cassidy, Lake in the Hills, Marilyn (William) Christie, St. Petersburg, Fla., Barbara Reese, Clearwater, Fla.; a son, Arnold Hay Jr., Valkaria, Fla.; a brother Jack Hay, McHenry; four grandsons, Steve and Bob Cross, Bill Christie and

Betty Marie Leslie

Betty Marie Leslie, 79, a longtime resident of Woodstock died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at her home.  She was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Coldrum County in Minnesota to Edgar William and Marie Cecilia (Korll) Anderson.  On July 11, 1960, she married Albert J. Leslie at Our Lady of the Lourdes Church in Little Falls, Minn. Betty spent her childhood on her family’s Minnesota farm and went on to study music at the MacPhail School of Music in Minneapolis. She brought her love of music to McHenry County and was active in many local organizations over the years including the Woodstock Opera House, McHenry County Chamber Singers and McHenry County Youth Orchestra.  She had a strong faith and great belief

Tracee Lynn Stolldorf

Tracee Lynn Stolldorf, 44, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at home in Woodstock. She was born Aug. 15, 1969, in Belvidere to Dorothy Graham and Thomas Norwood.  On Dec. 31, 1989, she married Aaron Stolldorf in Woodstock.  She was a graduate of Marengo Community High School. She was a loving mother and homemaker.  Survivors include her husband, Aaron; four sons, Kurtis Norwood, Joshua, Adam and Zachary Stolldorf,  all of Woodstock; a grandson, Ryan Carroll, Sharon, Wis.;  herfather, Thomas (Rose) Norwood, Apache Junction, Ariz.; her mother- and father-in-law, Art and Lois Stolldorf, Woodstock; a sister-in-law, Sheila Stolldorf, Woodstock; two sisters, Tina Norwood, Cumberland, Wis. and Terry Graham, Midlothian, Texas; six brothers, the Rev.
