Mary Lorraine Boehmer

Mary Lorraine Boehmer, 86, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Centegra Hospital-McHenry. She was born Aug. 1, 1928, to Joseph Ross and Claudine (Joseph) Ollis in Mobile, Ala. In February 1953, she married Arthur William Boehmer.  Their life in the Navy followed by United Airlines was pivotal to her love of seeing new destinations. While living in Palatine, she was active in the Travelers Aid Organization at O’Hare Field.  Her love of travel carried her and her husband to many worldwide destinations, such as Russia, Egypt and Ireland, to name a few.  She booked on 38 cruises all over the world. Her fondest travel destination was Paris.  She was active in the Bull Valley Garden Club, Woodstock Fine Arts

Jean Ann Brown

Jean Ann Brown, 82, Rockford, formerly of Woodstock, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, following a lengthy illness.   She was born April 17, 1932, to Edgar L. and Olive (Deem) Tislow.   On Sept. 7, 1953, she married James J. Brown at St. Francis Xavier Church in Vincennes, Ind.  She was a devout Catholic and a graduate of Saint Rose Academy, Vincennes.  She was artistic and loved music, continuing her education at several schools.  She later developed a talent for collecting and restoring antiques.  Survivors include her husband; three sons, James J. Brown II, Rockford, Thomas G. Brown, Rockford, and Timothy A. (Kim) Brown, Oregon, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Ronald G. (Kay) Brown, Vincennes;

Linda L. Sankey

Linda L. Sankey, 62, Woodstock, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 2, 1951, to Curtis and Lucille (Miller) Blaine in Oak Park.   On June 14, 1969, she married Eugene Sankey in Woodstock. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hartland.  She enjoyed doing yard work and gardening at her home.  She enjoyed spending time in the pool, especially with her grandchildren.  Fontana Lake in North Carolina was her favorite vacation destination.  She also enjoyed going shopping. Survivors include her husband; a son, Scott (Janna) Sankey; a daughter, Kristi (Don) Lewis; four grandchildren, Carlin, Austin, Caelynn and Curtis; and a brother, John Blaine. Audrey Frances (Menzel) Haager

Audrey Frances (Menzel) Haager, 75, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock, surrounded by her family. She was born June 4, 1939, to Herbert W. and Emma M. (Michnick) Menzel in Woodstock.  On April 11, 1959, she married James Frederick Haager at Grace Lutheran Church, Woodstock. She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1957.  In her younger years she worked as a clerk at the Woodstock Dry Goods store.  She also worked at the State Bank of Woodstock in the accounting office.  More recently, she served as a jury commissioner at the McHenry County Courthouse.   As a member of Grace Lutheran Church, she was active in Naomi Circle and served as the Sunday school superintendent and a

Dr. Kathleen “KC” Casteel

Dr. Kathleen “KC” Casteel, 61, Madeira Beach, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. She was born Oct. 10, 1952, to Buford Kenneth and Cheiko Casteel in Fukuoka, Japan. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Middle Tennessee State University, a master’s at DePaul University and a doctorate at National Chiropractic College, Lombard. She began her career as a medical technologist in Tennessee. She then went on to become director of strategy development at Baxter Travenol. She decided to change her health care path and pursue a doctorate of chiropractic, which truly was her passion. After earning her doctorate she opened a multi-doctor chiropractic clinic in Woodstock, where she practiced for 20 years. She retired and moved to Florida, where she passionately

Kenneth John Bohn

Kenneth John Bohn, 75, formerly of Woodstock, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at his son’s home near Greenville, Mich. He was born Aug. 15, 1938, the third son of Ernest and Betty Bohn.   He graduated from Woodstock Community High School in 1956. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock and the Order of DeMolay, and worked as a teenager with his parents and brothers in the family business, Bohn’s Ace Hardware.   On Sept. 7, 1959, he married Mary Margaret (Maggie) Smith in Princeton. He graduated from Carthage College in 1961. As an adult he worked for several manufacturing companies in the area of material control.  He and his family lived in several states where he

Sidney M. Edinger

Sidney M. Edinger, 85, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at the JourneyCare Hospice Unit, Woodstock, with his family by his side. He was born July 24, 1929, to Lester (“Doc”) and Marian Edinger, in Woodstock. He was a 1947 graduate of Woodstock Community High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College in 1951. Upon graduation, he entered naval officer training school and subsequently served in the Navy aboard a destroyer during the Korean War. He retired from the Navy Reserves after serving for 20 years. He joined Kimberly Clark Corporation in 1953. His position was senior vice president of marketing and logistics when he retired in 1988. He married Devona Frisbie and moved to

Shirley Stolzke

Shirley Stolzke, 80, Woodstock, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Journeycare Hospice Inpatient Unit, Woodstock. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, to John and Marian (Wolf) Hanley in Woodstock.  On June 9, 1956, she married Arthur Stolzke. She loved to travel with her husband, especially trips to Las Vegas. She enjoyed garage sales and making crafts. Mostly she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Stolzke and Robert (Debbie) Stolzke; a daughter, Susan (Richard) Motley; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeanna Hughes, Jill (Jason) Zupansic, Angela (Mark) Brose, Tracy Motley, Heather (Ryan) Lamb, Lacey, Nicholas and Shannon Stolzke, Alexandra (Caleb) McConnell, Robert Barrios, Greg Uden and Brian Nowasky; and 15 great-grandchildren. Lynne Anderson

Lynne Anderson, 72, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at the JourneyCare Hospice Inpatient Unit, Woodstock, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 30, 1941, to Frank and Marie (Clam) Hurley in Chicago.   On Oct. 28, 1988, she married Lester Anderson in Paducah, Ky.  He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2009. Lynne enjoyed sewing and crafts.  She cherished the time she spent living on the farm with her husband.  Most of all, Lynne enjoyed spending time with her family. Kathryn Joyce McCormack

Kathryn Joyce McCormack, 80, Harvard, formerly of Woodstock, died Wednesday, Sept.10, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1934, to Irvin and Margaret (Rhodes) Berry in Sheffield, Ala. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1959.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like going shopping and going to garage sales. Family outings were cherished, her family always came first, but the love she had for her cats was a close second. Survivors include three children, Ronald (Jill) Youngblood, James (Emma) McCormack and Patricia (Chris) Lawrence; four grandchildren, Christopher and Bryan Youngblood and Melanie and Morgan Lawrence;
