Hansing, 79, Woodstock, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at JourneyCare Inpatient Hospice Unit, Woodstock. She was born March 17, 1935, to Otto and Pearl (Hoeft) Wirth, in Ridgeland, Wis. She lived in the Woodstock area for more than 60 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Woodstock. She earned a General Education Development certificate from McHenry County College in October 1977 and a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from MCC in July 1997. Herbert H. Kemp Jr., 81, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Woodstock, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He worked for IBM and Tousche Ross before serving more than 30 years as chief information officer at DoALL in DesPlaines. Rosa Pfab Kubitzki, 90, Wonder Lake, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Hearthstone Manor, Woodstock. She was born Aug. 3, 1924, to Josef and Maria (Sigl) Pfab in Germany, the 10th of 13 children.  In 1952, she moved to Chicago after immigrating through the Port of New York. She lived with her family in Chicago until moving to Wonder Lake in 2004. After receiving education through the eighth grade in Germany, Rosa earned a General Education Development certificate in the United States. She worked in the insurance industry beginning at the former Combine Insurance Company of America in Chicago and retired in 1996 from Aon Insurance. Marguerite Sara Kaufman, 101, Woodstock, died Saturday, Aug. 16. She was born Aug. 14, 1913, to the Rev. Dr. Roger Kaufman and Blanche (Hostetter) Kaufman in Woodstock. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, where her father served as pastor. She attended Woodstock public schools, graduating from high school in  1931. Although higher education for women was rare at the time, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carthage College in 1935 and later earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in library science from the University of Illinois. Harvey M. Schneider, 70, Clemmons, N.C., formerly of Woodstock, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Wake Forest Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C. He owned Glory Home Builders, and co-owned Country Club Stable, Woodstock. He was the first president of the McHenry County Jewish Congregation in Crystal Lake.¬ Survivors include his wife and best friend of 30 years, Kay, (Chalman); a daughter, Deborah (David) Minori; a son, Michael (Suzette) Schneider; two grandchildren, Ben and Anna Schneider; three sisters, Ellen (the late Nathan) Finn, Dorothy (Leonard) Finn and Sheila (Marshall) Ander; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Christopher R. Schauer, 38, Woodstock, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014. He was born April 27, 1976, to Gary R. and Sharon E. (Madura) Schauer in Woodstock. In his youth, he was the Easter Seal Poster Child. He loved sports, especially basketball and baseball. In high school, he served as the manager for the Woodstock High School state finals baseball team as well as the WHS basketball team. He went on to manage the men’s and women’s basketball teams at McHenry County College where he recently was recognized for his 20 years of service. Lester E. Key, 87, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Sycamore. He was born May 30, 1927, in Norman, Okla.   On Dec. 4, 1972, he married Nancy Fischer in Chicago.   A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.  After discharge, he lived for a time in California before becoming a resident of Chicago where he met his wife.  For the past 37 years, he resided in Wonder Lake. Jessie E. Kaun, 94, Ashland, Wis. , formerly of Woodstock, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 4, 1920, to George and Ethel (Fawn) Vanlue, in McHenry County, N.D.  On Feb. 19, 1966, she married Paul Kaun in Beloit, Wis. One of 13 children, she lived in various areas throughout her childhood.
