Rosa Pfab Kubitzki

Rosa Pfab Kubitzki, 90, Wonder Lake, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Hearthstone Manor, Woodstock.

She was born Aug. 3, 1924, to Josef and Maria (Sigl) Pfab in Germany, the 10th of 13 children. 

In 1952, she moved to Chicago after immigrating through the Port of New York. She lived with her family in Chicago until moving to Wonder Lake in 2004.

After receiving education through the eighth grade in Germany, Rosa earned a General Education Development certificate in the United States. She worked in the insurance industry beginning at the former Combine Insurance Company of America in Chicago and retired in 1996 from Aon Insurance.

Survivors include three children, Helen (Stephen) Noskowicz, Wonder Lake, Rose Stewart, Wonder Lake, and Irene Kubitzki, Libertyville; three grandchildren, David (Julie) Noskowicz, Christopher Noskowicz, and Laura (Christopher) Artwohl; four great-grandchildren, Callie, Cameron, Joseph and Ava; a sister, Helen Berkmuller, Weilheim, Germany; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Pfab, Holzhausen, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.

A visitation and funeral were Aug. 12 at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral Home, Wonder Lake.

Interment was in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
