Christine A. Perkins

Christine A. Perkins, 53, Woodstock, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born March 30, 1961, to Albert and Theresa (Owczarz) Reed in Chicago.  She was a loving and prideful mom who was deeply devoted to her children. Her home was often the second home to many of her children’s friends. She worked at PCCR as an IT systems administrator. She was well-versed in a little of everything. She stayed current with the new developments in her field and in 2012 received an associate’s degree. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Woodstock. She enjoyed completing many projects around the house and also loved giving homemade gifts. Enjoying and spoiling her grandson

Eleanor Lillian Mungle

Eleanor Lillian Mungle, 90, Woodstock, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 15, 1924, to Matthew A. and Elsie H. (Siebel) Schmarje.  On July 22, 1944, she married Gerald N. Mungle in Woodstock. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Woodstock. She also was a member of the Woodstock VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved the annual Memorial Day Parade. She enjoyed the pleasures of raising her family on the farm. Her family was always most important to her, especially when it came to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Guadalupe Velasquez

Guadalupe Velasquez Sr., 72, Woodstock, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Crossroads Care Center, Woodstock, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 12, 1942, to Ernesto and Maria Velasquez in Cotulla, Texas.  He was a huge Elvis fan. He was a kind-hearted person who worked hard and loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his mother; three children, Guadalupe Velasquez Jr., Christella Velasquez and Rachel Velasquez Romo; five grandchildren, Eric Ratliff, Raquel Marie Coleman, Jordin Romo, Cassandra Sophia Velasquez and Juan Diego Romo; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Jacob Coleman and Ava Marie Coleman; 10 siblings, Minni Guerrero, Elsie Soto, Miluy Perz, George Velasquez, Irene Holinka, Yolanda Rios, Lucinda Velasquez, Estella Skytte, Ernesto

James E Tegtmeier

James E Tegtmeier, 78, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at his home. He was born May 28, 1936, to Frederick James and Ruth “Tad” Marjorie (Evans) Engle in Elgin. In subsequent years, Tad married Edward Tegtmeier, Crystal Lake, and Frederick married Vera Beu, Woodstock.  On Dec. 30, 1961, he married Barbara Ann Zanck, and they shared 35 years together in a loving relationship based on a strong, mutual commitment to marriage, family, home and work. Barbara died Aug. 20, 1996. He found a second love in Jacqueline Witt. They were married April 1, 1998. He grew up in Huntley, and after high school, he worked for Union Special Corporation. Richard Raymond Borst

Richard “Dad,” “Dick,” “Rich” Raymond Borst, 71, Marengo, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, in Belvidere. He was born April 6, 1943, to Donald and Shirley (Maier) Borst in Red Wing, Minn. He graduated from Ellsworth High School, Ellsworth, Wis., in 1961. He went into the Army Reserves then transferred into the U.S. Air Force, earning a degree as an aircraft mechanic. He later earned a certificate as a master mechanic for Chrysler Corporation. Other jobs included semitrailer owner/operator, and diesel/auto mechanic. He recently retired as a Harley-Davidson technician for Woodstock Harley-Davidson. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He had many hobbies. Roger J. Wroblewski

Roger J. Wroblewski, 67, Wonder Lake, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry. He was born Aug. 20, 1947, to Norbert and Leone (Eckstein) Wroblewski in Chicago .   On Aug. 27, 1966, he married Peggy Sue Barnett at the First Baptist Church Carpentersville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968.  He was the recipient of a bronze service star.  After serving his country, he worked in sales and later was a truck driver.  He remained very active with veterans organizations and enjoyed outreach activities to help other veterans.  He was the past-president of the McHenry County Chapter of VietNow, holding all offices through

Lawrence R. Heckathorne

Lawrence R. Heckathorne, 52, McHenry, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at his mother, Janet Adams’, home after battling pancreatic cancer.  He was raised on a small farm on Pleasant Valley Road, Woodstock.  He attended Woodstock District 200 schools and excelled in sports, including football, track and baseball. He worked in construction in Illinois, Wisconsin and Arizona until 2007.  His next career was as an on-board service attendant for Amtrak; his favorite run was the Empire Builder from Chicago to Portland, Ore., and back. He enjoyed cooking and improving many dishes with his own touch.  He loved the beautiful voice and music of Sarah Brightman.  Survivors include a daughter, Rachael Hansen, Chicago; his mother; a brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Heckathorne, McHenry; a

Anna Ludwig

Anna Ludwig, 88, Wonder Lake, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at JourneyCare Hospice Center, Woodstock.  She was born to Mihaly and Anna (Komeiner) Mechler in Hungary.   On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Steve Ludwig in Hungary.  While growing up in Hungary, she was forced to leave school during the Depression after completing sixth grade to work in a factory to help support her family.   She and her husband came to the United States in 1956. They lived in Danville for three years, Perrysville for four years and Chicago for 11 years.  She was a resident of Wonder Lake from 1974 until moving to Heritage Woods, McHenry, in 2011.  A waitress for most of her career, Anna worked at the Bakery

Chistopher John Goralka

Christopher John Goralka, 53, McHenry, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at his home.  He was born April 6, 1961, to Paul R. and Rose Marie (LuFrano) Goralka in Chicago.  He was first employed at the family business, Goralka & Son Hardware Store, on Archer Avenue in Chicago.  He later worked as a cable installer in the Chicagoland area.  After suffering severe injuries in an accident 10 years ago, he was unable to return to work. Always there for someone in need, he was the type of person to either give the shirt off his back or buy one. He will be dearly missed by his family. Robert A. “Butch” Veugeler Jr.

Robert A. “Butch” Veugeler Jr., 58, Crystal Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Advocate Sherman Hospital.  He was born Dec. 15, 1959, to Robert A. Veugeler Sr. and Sandra L. McDillon. He brought much joy and laughter into the lives of his friends and family. He enjoyed playing golf and darts with his sons.  He was employed at his grandparents’ business, Crystal Lake Disposal. He worked as an insulation installer for more than 15 years, operated his own taxi cab and recently worked in tree service and roofing. Survivors include three children, Allen Veugeler, Wesley (Caitlin) Veugeler, Lakemoor, and Megan Mueller, Marengo; two grandchildren, Liam and Lilliana Veugeler; his father, Crystal Lake; his mother, Sandra L.
