George A. Cangialosi

George A. Cangialosi, 68, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Northwestern Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield. He was born March 10, 1949, to George and Marjorie (Kerner) Cangialosi in Northlake. He married Margaret Mass July 28, 2007. He graduated from West Leyden High School in 1967. He owned a hydraulic motor repair shop for many years in California. He owned Marathon Hydraulic Motors in Woodstock for the past 15 years. He loved to go on fishing trips. He also enjoyed spending time with his old high school friends.  He was loved and will be missed. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jennifer (Eric) Huber, Candace Cangialosi and Carrie (Darrin) Carlisle-Fischer; a sister, Nancy Zickfoose; 11 grandchildren, Adriana, Rebecca, Logan, Grace,

Geneva F. Beu

Geneva F. Beu, 93. Lisle, formerly of Woodstock, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018. She was born Sept. 29, 1924. Survivors include her children, Barbara Ann Ocwieja, Wayne (Sheila) Beu, Linda Beu, Patrick (Laura) Weter and William Weter; grandchildren, Renee, Ronnie, Jonelle, Stacy, Jason, Regan, Ross, Caleb, Ashley, Samantha, Bradley, Max and Morgan; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Beu; and a son-in-law, James Ocwieja. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday Feb. 16, until the funeral at 11:30 a.m. at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., Downers Grove. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Thomas D. Cooney

Thomas D. Cooney, 94, Woodstock,  died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Woodstock, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 6, 1923, to Herbert T. and Mary E. (Hurley) Cooney in Woodstock. On May 26, 1951, he married Irene S. Shereda in Woodstock. Irene died June 20, 1992.  On Feb. 6, 1997, he married Jane Conerty. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.  After the war, he returned to Woodstock where he worked in finance for several organizations.  He went to work for the McHenry County Title Company / Chicago Title in 1959.  During his 27-year career there he worked in several capacities until being elected president in 1979.  He retired in 1986. Donald L. Perkins

Donald L. Perkins, 92, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at the Perkins Farm, surrounded by his loving family; the same home where he was born April 19, 1925, to Gladys and Lester Perkins. He married Joyce Tornow Sept. 2, 1950, and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together, until her death in 2013. Don loved his God, his family and his country. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the 9th Division of the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He earned two Purple Hearts, along with other honors for his service. Walter F. O’Grady

Walter F. O’Grady, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Crossroads Care Center. He was born Dec. 4, 1933, to William F. and Marie L. O’Grady in Chicago. He was a banker for 15 years and a well-respected history teacher at McHenry County College for six years. He was very involved with St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hartland, serving as a cantor for many years.  He was an avid golfer and a man of many interests.  Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband. Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Vogt) O’Grady. The visitation and funeral Mass were Feb. 1 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Hartland. Interment was private. Arrangements were made by Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.

Roger Wells Dermont

Roger Wells Dermont, 84, Wann, Okla., died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at his home. He was born March 24, 1933, to Arthur and Gwendolyn (Carpenter) Dermont in Crystal Lake. Ten years ago he married Mary Christine Wycoff. He was a 1951 graduate of Woodstock High School. He worked for 10 years as a district sales manager for the Rockford Register Star. He served in the U.S. Air Force where he received the National Defense Medal along with the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, Navy Club and the American Legion, and First United Methodist Church, Woodstock. He held a special place in his heart for all his family. Erma Rose Hunt Beam

Erma Rose Hunt Beam

Erma Rose Hunt Beam, 95, San Jose, Calif., formerly of Woodstock, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018. She was born May 18, 1922, in Woodstock After graduating from Woodstock High School, she made her home in Dayton, Ohio, for more than 40 years, working for the U.S. Postal Service from 1964 to 1987.  She moved to California in 1989. She outlived her immediate family and generation. Survivors include three daughters; a son; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, many of whom reside in Woodstock. She was preceded in death by a son. Services will be held in Ohio at a later date.

Karen L. Rousey

Karen L. Rousey, 78, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, in Woodstock. She was born Jan. 4, 1940, to Omer Lee (Evelyn) Chronister in McAlester, Oklahoma. On June 17, 1961, she married Glenn Rousey in Woodstock. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1961 as a medic in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked for Guardian Electric for many years. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Denise Rousey; grandchildren, Kevin, Jason (Ashley), Katie and Joshua Flaig; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation was Jan. 30 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Burial was at McHenry

Evelyn M. Hart

Evelyn M. Hart

Evelyn M. Hart, 94, Woodstock, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Hearthstone Manor. She was born Jan. 3, 1924, on Seneca Ridge Farm, the family farm on Perkins Road in rural Woodstock. She was the oldest of the three children born to August and Helena (Stake) Gerloff. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and remained a member of St. John’s her entire life. She attended Pleasant Ridge School and was a 1941 graduate of Woodstock High School. At graduation, she received the American Legion Award based on courage, honor, service, leadership and scholarship. She also received a scholarship to Northern Illinois State Teachers College, DeKalb, where she received her teaching degree in Rural Education in 1943.

Karen L. Allayaud

Karen L. Allayaud, 73, New Orleans, LA, formerly of Woodstock, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, following a year-long battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 20, 1944, in Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Woodstock High School and a piano teacher in the area. Survivors include her husband, Carl Holub, New Orleans; her mother, Beulah Allayaud, Godfrey; a sister, Jody (Chuck) Hoffmann, Grafton; two nieces, Ericka Hoffmann, Clifton, VA, and Lori Hoffmann, Grafton; two half-sisters and a half-brother, and their families; a great-uncle; two great-aunts; several cousins; and a stepsister and her family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father; two cousins; and several great-aunts and -uncles. Due to health issues with her husband, no services are
