Walter G. Price, 72

Walter G. Price, 72, of Woodstock, Ill., died Sunday, July 4, 2021, at home. Born May 22, 1949, in Chicago, the son of Albert G. and Walena (Chenery) Price, Walter married June M. White on Nov. 24, 2000, in Richmond, Ill. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Sgt. Walter Price served in California as an honor guard member. After his honorable discharge, he was a member of the American Legion in Carrizo Springs, Texas. Walt was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 142. He enjoyed puzzles, reading a lot, was talented at handy work, and was a Cubs fan. Walter is survived by his wife; son, Matthew Price; grandchildren, Josett, Lance, Victoria, Lexi, Quinn, Lilly and Abbie; and

Ray L. ‘Bud’ Oughton Jr., 88

Ray L. “Bud” Oughton Jr., 88, of Woodstock, passed away on Thursday June 24, 2021, at his home in Woodstock. He was born in Fort Atkinson, Wis., on Oct. 2, 1932, to Ray L. and Lucille (Darling) Oughton Sr. He married Barbara Dunlap on July 2, 1960, in Woodstock. Bud was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a talented Mr. Fix It, and especially enjoyed woodworking and woodcarving. He served on the board of directors for The Adult and Child Therapy Center and was the handyman around the center, volunteering many hours. He was named an “Everyday Hero” by the Northwest Herald. Michael Francis Engelhardt, 74

Michael Francis Engelhardt, 74, of Woodstock, passed away on June 23, 2021, at his home in Woodstock in the loving arms of his wife, Kay. He was born in Vöcklabruck, Austria, on June 27, 1946, to Sebastian and Barbara (Kaiser) Engelhardt. He married Karen Kay Grant on Dec. 4, 1971. Mike (or Spike, to friends and relatives) was fun-loving, had an easy-going spirit, and a great sense of humor. He loved bowling, golf, fishing, horseshoes, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, music (especially oldies rock), and all of the Chicago sports teams. A celebration of life gathering for Jeffrey Trewyn will be held on Saturday, July 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Niko’s Red Mill Tavern, 1040 Lake Ave., in Woodstock, IL 60098. Robert Atwood Holifield, 43

Robert Atwood Holifield had an impact that far exceeded his allotted time on earth. In his 43 years, Robert lived in a way we can only hope to emulate – with an open heart, rare strength of character, and a commitment to creating a better future. He loved fiercely and laughed freely. Kristin Rylko, age 41, of Chicago (formerly of Woodstock), peacefully passed away at home in the company of family on June 9, 2021.Born to Christine Kozina and Joseph Rylko, beloved wife of Adil Khan, loving sister of Jeannette Rylko and aunt to Austin Gray, dear niece to Wanda and Stan Volp and Joann and Scott Flick. Godmother to Hailey Flick.Kristin attended St. Mary School and Woodstock High School. She continued her education with a degree from the University of Illinois, then received her J.D. from Kent School of Law at IIT in 2005 with high honors. Ronald A. Knaack, 82

Ronald A. Knaack, 82, of Woodstock passed away peacefully on June 10, 2021, surrounded by his family after a long illness. Ron was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Woodstock, Ill., to Fred and Viola (Austin) Knaack. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Ron met the love of his life, Beatrice, in 1960, and they were married Sept. 16, 1961. Together they built a life filled with love and strong family values. He had many hobbies that include flying model airplanes in competitions and a collection of Corvettes. He had a passion for working on cars and was an excellent mechanic. Raymond Larsen, 84

Raymond Larsen, 84, of Woodstock, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at the Harvard Care Center in Harvard. He was born March 26, 1937, in Woodstock to Lewis and Sofie (Helm) Larsen. He married Dorothy Woellert on June 6, 1959, in Woodstock. Raymond was a dairy farmer his entire life. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1957. He had been an elder trustee at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodstock and a trustee for Alden Township for many years. He enjoyed baseball, the Cubs, bowling, playing cards, and he loved spending time with his family. Nancy Davis, 81, of Woodstock, passed away at home in the company of family on June 12, 2021, in Woodstock. She was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Woodstock to Elmer and Loretta (Beth) Philipp. She married James Davis in 1958 in Woodstock. She and her husband met as students at Woodstock High School. Her career included administrative, insurance, and office management positions at the Woodstock Title Co., Kishwaukee Valley Medical Group, and the Special Education District of McHenry County, from which she retired. An avid crafter with her own active craft business, she re-created the craft fair at St. John’s Lutheran Church and ran the fair for 10 years. Marilyn J. Stork, age 82, of Loves Park, Ill., died Monday, June 7, 2021, in her home, where she lived proudly and independently. Marilyn was surrounded, comforted, and loved by all three of her children during her last few days in her home. She was born Nov. 12, 1938, in Woodstock, Ill., to Edwin and Betty Lindvall. She graduated from Woodstock Community High School in 1956.
