Corinne Josephine Meyer

Corinne Josephine Meyer, 83, Woodstock, formerly of Bradenton, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock.  She was born March 18, 1929, in Chicago to Albert C. and Josephine (Bussema) Higgins. She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago.  On Jan. 17, 1948, she married Raymond C. Meyer in Chicago.  Survivors include a sister, Patricia Feeley, Sarasota, Fla.; two sons, Randall (Karen) Meyer, Woodstock, and Jeffrey (Karen) Meyer, Downers Grove; a daughter, Gail Meyer, Falls Church, Va.;  four grandchildren, Carrie, Scott, Brian and Jason; and a great-granddaughter, Haley.  She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, William (Bill) Higgins. Eileen R. Fuchs

Eileen R. Fuchs, 86, Woodstock, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock. She was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Farmington, Minn., to Ernest and Hattie (Jonas) Demuth, the fifth of 14 children. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married Robert F. Fuchs in Woodstock. She loved to cook and was an extraordinary baker. She also enjoyed traveling back to Minnesota to visit with her many siblings. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Shirley (Thomas) Firak and Lynda (Gary) Christopher; a son, Robert J. (Karen) Fuchs; four grandchildren, David Blue, Elise Harland and Jordan and Jace Fuchs; a great-granddaughter, Mia Harland; and many siblings. She was preceded in

Lillian Marie (Habbley) Schmarje

Lillian Marie (Habbley) Schmarje, 98, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock. She was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Plato Center to Frank and Mary (Meyer) Habbley. She was baptized in 1917 at her grandmother’s house with her sisters, Emily and Gertrude. When she finished eighth grade, she began cleaning houses and taking care of children. On Sept. 23, 1939, she married Ralph Schmarje by Justice of the Peace Charles Corey, husband to her sister, Helen. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Woodstock, and was involved with youth programs, greeters, the funeral luncheon committee, Aid Association for Lutherans, Goldenagers, Mary and Martha and the Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker all her life,

Janet Kay Gleason

Janet Kay Gleason, 45, Woodstock, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born Feb. 15, 1967, in Harvey to Byron Gleason and Diane (Jeske) Gleason.   She loved vacationing at lakes and the ocean, reading, music, shopping, talking on the phone and spending time with her nieces, nephews, family and friends.   She was a longtime blood and platelet donor and volunteer for Habitat of Humanity.   She was a valued employee at IBS America Inc. of Massachusetts, where she worked as an implementation specialist. Marion K. Ruzicka

Marion K. Ruzicka, 86, Wonder Lake, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. Survivors include her children, Rick (Chuck Coster), Robin (Pam), Ross (Stacy) and Renee Ruzicka; three grandchildren, Becky (Wally) Peckovich and Shelly and Samantha Ruzicka; a great-grandchild,  Reese Peckovich; siblings, Lil (late Don) Rose and Tootie and Billy Ballard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L., and a brother, Glen (Orpha) Lilek. Services were private. Memorials can be sent to the Wonder Lake Rescue Squad, 4300 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake, IL 60097; or Valley Hi Nursing Home, 2406 Hartland Road, Woodstock, IL 60098.  Arrangements were made by Nelson Funeral Home, Chicago.

Gerhard 'Gary' H. Weiler

Gerhard ‘‘Gary’’ H. Weiler, 76, Woodstock, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 8, 1936, in Sulzbach-Laufen, Germany, to Hans (John) and Else (Mueller) Weiler.  He moved to Waterloo, Iowa, in 1951 with his family. On June 21, 1959, he married Patricia Ann Dunning in Waterloo. In 1959, he started Weiler Engineering Inc., Elk Grove, with his father.  Weiler Engineering sponsored a weekly radio show that played German music in Chicago for many years. In 1968, he established Automated Liquid Packaging Inc., Elk Grove, which packaged sterile liquid products for personal care and pharmaceutical companies. The company moved to Woodstock in 1981, and he sold it in 1999. He was a strong

William “Billy” J. Wedoff

William “Billy” J. Wedoff, 52, Sterling, formerly of Woodstock, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at  Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock. He was born Oct. 6, 1960, in Woodstock to Eugene J. and Dorothy H. (Gerleve) Wedoff. The family would like to thank the staff and caretakers at Exceptional Care and Training Center, Sterling, for many years of loving care, as well as the staff at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois for their services. Lucille M. Angelo, 91, Woodstock, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Hearthstone Manor, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in St. Louis to Robert and Lillian (McCarthy) Bryant. On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Jim Angelo.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, ceramics, bridge and painting, gardening, music and dancing. Her greatest pleasure was her family.  When her husband retired they traveled across the United States.  She was a Eucharist minister with St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Crystal Lake, and was employed at Piggly Wiggly and also part time at the Village Resale Shop until she retired.  Survivors include a daughter, Pat Fitzgerald, Woodstock; two sons, Joe (Young Ku) Angelo, California, and Jim (Sue) Angelo,

Angeline “Angie” Statz Bauer

Angeline “Angie” Statz Bauer, 92, Madison, Wis., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. She was born July 5, 1920, in Waunakee, Wis., to Louis and Catherine (Acker) Statz. On May 15, 1943, she married George Bauer in Madison. She was third oldest of nine children. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Madison, and was active in the ladies guild. She enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, playing cards and refinishing furniture. She was known for her boundless energy and generous hospitality and she was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking.  Her greatest joy was sharing her baked goods with others. Thomas A. Stone

Thomas A. Stone, 60, Woodstock, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Florence Nursing Home, Marengo, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born Jan. 16, 1953, in Woodstock to Charles and Mary F. (Horick) Stone. He was one of a small group of developmentally disabled people whose parents founded what would evolve into Pioneer Center For Human Services. He graduated from Special Education District of McHenry County in Woodstock in 1974 and attended Pioneer Center’s workshop in McHenry for the next 34 years.
