Elizabeth J. Rogman

Elizabeth J. Rogman, 95, Centennial, Colo., formerly of Woodstock, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Christian Living Center and Johnson Center Nursing Home in Centennial.  She was born May 29, 1918, in Chicago to Henry and Harriet (Hansen) Roscher.  On Aug. 16, 1941, she married Gordon H. Rogman in Harvard.  She was a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Woodstock and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion. She loved bowling and was a member of at least four different bowling leagues. She was a volunteer at Woodstock Food Pantry for many years and worked as a bookkeeper at Thompson’s Appliance in Woodstock. She and her husband also owned and operated the Rogman’s South

Kevin E. Gregory

Kevin E. Gregory, 40, Woodstock, died Friday June 7, 2013, at his home.  He was born Dec. 23, 1972, in Harvard to Kenneth and Mary (Hauri) Gregory.  He was a 1991graduate of Woodstock High School.  He loved farm life and was active in 4-H for many years; he visited all the area county fairs and showed his dairy cattle, including his big Brown Swiss. He was employed at Dean Foods and with the city of Woodstock. He most recently worked as the assistant dairy herdsman for Buck A Dell Farms and also owned and operated Hogg Farms. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on all types of farm equipment. He shared his huge heart with all who knew him.

Kurt A. Myers

Kurt A. Myers, 54, Woodstock, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 1, 1959, in Woodstock to Jack and Karen (McNeese) Myers.   On Aug. 22, 1987, he married Vicki Schmidtman in Woodstock. He was a quality control technician and worked for Union Special for more than 32 years.   He was a Chicago sports fan and especially liked to watch Chicago Cubs games.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing  and traveling.  His family’s lake house in Wisconsin was one of his favorite places to visit.   He  also liked to coach children in Little League as well as softball, and watching his son bowl also was  something he cherished. Norma Helen Johnson

Norma Helen Johnson, 94, Woodstock, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.  She was born May 30, 1918, in Woodstock to Leon and Marguerite (Schmelzer) Schryver.   She was married to Kenneth Raymond Johnson. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Woodstock, and worked at the Woodstock Auto-Lite Factory during World War II.  She was a family-oriented person, and her home was open to relatives and friends. She enjoyed gardening and doing crossword puzzles in her spare time. Survivors include a son, Robert Lee Johnson; two grandsons, Corey Johnson and Michael “Mick” Johnson; and a nephew, Alan (Ann) Fink. Arline A. McNett

Arline A. McNett, 91, Woodstock, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at her home. She was born May 27, 1922, in Huntley, to Chris W. and Alice (Benson) Klabunde. She married Edward L. McNett Nov. 12, 1946, in Woodstock. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock for more than 50 years. She was a dedicated member of the Altar and Rosary Society at the church for more than 15 years.  She was an active member of the Woodstock VFW Auxiliary; and a volunteer with the McHenry County Historical Society. Survivors include a son, Michael (Judith) McNett; a grandson, Andrew McNett; a sister, Betty Ann Sweetland; three half-brothers, Albert H. (Kathy) Klabunde, Chris R. (Peggy) Klabunde and James

Dolores E. Martinez

Dolores E. Martinez, 85, Crystal Lake, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.    On Aug. 10,1946, she married Leonard Martinez in Chicago.  She moved to Algonquin with her family in 1957. She and her family started Leonard and Sons Building Services in 1966. She retired in Florida in 1988 and moved to Crystal Lake in 2012. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Walden and Lorrie Kemble (longtime partner Warren Haake); two sons, Len (Mary Ann), Woodstock, and Rich (Pam);  11 grandchildren, Carrie (Gene) Jenke, Michele (Arland) Wingate, Kris (Phil) Farrell, Joe (Trisha) Martinez, Beth Martinez, David (Tammy Cole) Kemble, Ryan Kemble, Amanda Martinez, Melinda Martinez, Seth (Michelle) Martinez  and Caleb (Jaime) Martinez; 17 great-grandchildren, Jenna and Kiera

Bryan G. Barry

Bryan G. Barry, 41, Harvard, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in Walworth, Wis.  He was born Oct. 26, 1971, in Woodstock to Walter and Doris (Nells) Barry.  He worked at Jim Olson Collision Center in Woodstock and loved the outdoors. He will be missed by many who loved him.  Survivors include his wife, Ruby; his parents; a son, Tayler; two sisters, Robin (Rich) Knapik and Lynette (Tim) Ashmore; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Nell; a niece, Brittany Knapik; a nephew, Michael (Kelly) Knapik; and a great-nephew Konner Knapik.  Visitation was May 30 and 31 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. The funeral was May 31. Burial was at McHenry County Memorial Park.

Kenneth Glenn Gabel

Kenneth Glenn Gabel, 90, McHenry, formerly of Wonder Lake, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Fox Point Manor, McHenry. He was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Evanston to Harry A. and Lydia (Manthie) Gabel.  On Sept. 6, 1947, he married Betty Jean Fiala. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He received three Bronze Stars and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, and he  had achieved the rank of corporal at the time of his discharge. He was a resident of Wonder Lake since 1947 and moved to McHenry in 2006. He was a former  employee of Althoff Industries, where he worked for 43 years. He was a member

Michael J. Kelly

Michael J. Kelly, 87, Woodstock, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 9, 1925, in Flint, Mich., to George and Elizabeth (Dollohan) Kelly.   He married Marietta F. McLoughlin. He was a veteran and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was decorated with the Air Medal from General Dwight D. Eisenhower for showing bravery in saving the lives of his crew. He was founder and chairman of the board of Kelco Industries and a renowned industrialist, author and philanthropist. Survivors include three sons, Michael Shawn (Ann) Kelly, Kevin George (Cricket) Kelly, Brian McLoughlin (Erin) Kelly; two daughters, Karen Kelly Conway and Kimberly (Dan)

Lorraine Fejedelem

Lorraine Fejedelem, 91, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at home. She was born Jan. 19, 1922, in Chicago to John and Alice E. (Ofenloch) Tolemy. On April 7, 1939, she married Edward E. Fejedelem in Chicago. She was a resident of Wonder Lake since 1964. She was a longtime member of Nativity Lutheran Church,Wonder Lake, and taught Sunday school until she was 82 years old. She was Mrs. Claus at the Nativity Christmas bazaar for 20 years and was involved in many other Nativity events. She participated in many community activities and was a member of the Memory Maker/Story Tellers, the Wonder Lake Senior Citizens Club, the McHenry Senior Center and the Young at Heart Travel Club.
