Thomas G. Fox, 62, Woodstock

Thomas G. Fox, 62, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 23, 1953, to Ralph and Voreta (Guinn) Fox in Erwin, Tenn.  On Aug. 10, 1974, he married Janis Wyneken in Peru, Ind. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as vice president of operations for KidCo. He was an avid reader and enjoyed family vacations in Florida and Arizona. He was a loving husband and father, and his family meant everything to him. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bradley (Sarah) Fox; two daughters, Stephanie Fox and Erin Fox; his mother; a brother, Terry Fox; and a sister,

James Edward Ule, 75, Woodstock

James Edward Ule, 75, Woodstock, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at Mercy Hospital, Walworth. He was born Oct. 11, 1940, to Frank and Mildred (Schiller) Ule in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.  On July 27, 1963, he married Phyllis Conley in Belvidere. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting in Auburndale, Wis.  He was a Corvette enthusiast and loved going to car shows and driving his ‘61 Corvette.  He was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge, a Green Bay Packer fan and a Wisconsin Badger fan. But mostly he was a family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was loved and will be missed. Wima Rae Owens, 86, Woodstock

Wilma Rae Owens, 86, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Valley Hi Nursing Home, Woodstock, where she was loved and cared for the last 10 years of her life. She was born Aug. 2, 1929, to Henry and Dorothy (Bond) Dailey in West Frankfort. On Jan. 27, 1945, she married Norman Dean Owens. She loved to sew and taught sewing to anyone who asked. She sewed her daughter’s wedding dress and bridesmaids’ dresses and her granddaughter’s wedding dress. She was known as an expert entertainer and hosted many events for family and friends in her home. She loved to line dance, garden and fish. George M. Burke, 95, Woodstock

George M. Burke, age 95, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, in Woodstock, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born June 1, 1920, to George F. and Anna L. (McGuire) Burke in Woodstock.  On May 22, 1946, he married Dolores E. Wagner in Volo. A graduate of St. Mary High School, he was the last surviving member of the class of 1938. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945 in the South Pacific. From 1950 until his retirement in 1994, he was an auto salesman with Hurley Motors, Woodstock. He was a charter member of VFW Post 5040 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 776, where he served as Grand Knight.

Elva Colcord, 93, Capron

Elva Colcord, 93, Capron, died Sunday, Dec.20, 2015, at St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford. She was born Nov. 20, 1922, to Earnest and Ella (Jacobson) Bauman in Hebron . She loved quilting, doing crafts and collecting teapots. Survivors include a son, David (Joanne) Colcord; three daughters, Janice Colcord, Joyce (David) Bauer and Joan Colcord; four grandchildren, Scott (Tricia) Colcord, Aaron (Natalia) Colcord, Valarie (Robert) Svihlik and Clint Westphal; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Charlie, Katie, Allie, Joshua, Christina and Rachel; and her beloved cat, Nora. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Colcord; a son, James Colcord; and three brothers, Earnest Bauman, Herbert (Josephine) Bauman and Irwin Bauman. Norma J. Dolan, 95, Woodstock

Norma J. Dolan, 95, Woodstock, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Hearthstone Manor, Woodstock. She was born June 6, 1920, to Oral E. and Edith (Jansczsky) Thurber in Chicago.  On Oct. 21, 1944, she married Robert Dolan in Chicago.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock. She worked for the Woodstock Dry Goods store and at Farm & Fleet, Woodstock. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include three children, Dr. Margaret Dolan, Niles, Edward (Fatima) Dolan, Needham, Mass., and Mary (Allen) Austin, Woodstock; four grandchildren, Sean (Lindsay) Austin, Sarah Austin, Daniel (Megan) Dolan and Andrew Dolan; six great-grandchildren, Rian, Eadlin and Braedan Austin, Caleb Hafner and Katie and Anna Dolan.  She was preceded in

Emery Allen Cross Jr., 72, Kimberling City, Mo.

Emery Allen Cross Jr., 72, Kimberling City, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, in Branson, Mo.  He was born Jan. 3, 1943, to Emery Sr. and Glenna Cross in Harvard.  On April 12, 1991, he was joined in marriage to Ida Mae.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, doing bodywork on cars and watching the Green Bay Packers. He loved his dog, Lucy. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1329 in Woodstock and Elks Lodge 2505 in Kimberling City.  He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him. Grace W. Carlson, 94, Wheaton

Grace W. Carlson, 94, Wheaton, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 30, 1921, to Grace (Holveck) and William Wimmer in Chicago. She grew up in Portage Park and graduated from Carl Schurz High School and Northwestern University, Evanston, with a degree in education. She and her husband, Joseph, moved to Glen Ellyn in 1947 where they raised four children. She taught at Sunset Ridge School in Northfield while her husband attended Northwestern University and at Ben Franklin School in Glen Ellyn for 26 years. She enjoyed reading, music, travel, aerobics and loved looking after her granddaughter Sarah.  While living in Glen Ellyn, she was active in the Glen

Joseph P. Slavin, 56, Woodstock

Joseph P. Slavin, 56, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at his home. He was born April 15, 1959, to James and Frances (Andrews) Slavin in Woodstock.  He was a graduate of Hebron High School and the University of Illinois before his life was greatly affected by a mental illness. Despite his own struggles, he was an advocate for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and served as a representative of the members council at Thresholds. He was an avid reader and spent much time at the Woodstock Public Library. He enjoyed taking walks, studying ecology and getting together for family gatherings. He will be missed by all who knew him. Marc Dennis Granzetto, 44, Woodstock

Marc Dennis Granzetto, 44, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015. He was born Nov. 4, 1971, to Dennis and Geri (Williams) Granzetto in Somerville, N.J. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and cousin.  He was a best friend to many, with an unbelievably loving heart. Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Kurt (Staci) Granzetto and Craig (Charlene) Granzetto; six nephews; one niece; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father in 2011; an aunt, Joan Fazekas; a nephew, Skylar Granzetto; a niece, Isabella Granzetto; and two cousins, Kyle Granzetto and Tamara Lizzi.
