Tom Arthur Pacey, 76

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom A. Pacey (1949-2025), who departed this life on Nov. 3, 2025, in Sylva, N.C., with his loved ones by his side. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barb Pacey, and five children, Michael, Brian, Brett, Emily, and Ben. He was also a devoted father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, whose presence touched many lives.

Born on June 30, 1949, in Burlington, Wis., to Verne and Lillian Pacey (Graunke), Tom was one of seven siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Nancy and Duane. Tom leaves behind his remaining siblings Anne, Joyce, David (Sandy Gaylord), and Mitch.

Tom resided for 51 years in Woodstock, where he met Barb, grew a family, and worked in the concrete industry, primarily as a dispatcher. In 2000, he and his family decided to trade the snow for the mountains, relocating to Whittier, N.C. He continued to work another 15 years at Southern Concrete Materials. Even after his official retirement, Tom approached each day with the same drive as if he were still clocking in at 6 a.m.

Tom loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, and favorite dogs. He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, witty sense of humor, and compassion for others. He will be so dearly missed.
