Stanley S. Johnson Jr., 94

Stanley S. Johnson, Jr., age 94 of Woodstock, IL passed away at Symphony of Maple Crest in Belvidere, IL on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was born on July 11, 1931 the son of Stanley S. and Lydia (Milligan) Johnson, Sr.

Stanley was united in marriage on February 5, 1955 to Marjorie Cosman and they have spent the past 70 years happily together. Mr. Johnson was a proud Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. 

Throughout his life, Stanley was a devoted father, grandfather to eight grandchildren, and great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren. Until very recent years, he could be found fixing a tractor, mowing the lawn for the family to enjoy, pitching a baseball to the children during family picnics, watching the Cubs, and serving at his local church, Harvard Bible Church in Harvard, IL. Stanley worked daily for his family, and he faithfully prayed with Marjorie each morning at the breakfast table for all those they loved. His faith in Jesus was central to his life, and he knew his forever home was Heaven.  

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Johnson of Woodstock, IL; his daughter, Rosemary (Timothy) Williams of Woodstock, IL. 

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley S. and Lydia Johnson, Sr; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Gennifer Johnson; and his brother, Carl Johnson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Harvard Bible Church, 5817 Island Rd, Harvard, IL. Interment will follow in Dunham-Chemung Cemetery in Harvard, IL. 

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2025  at Harvard Bible Church, 5817 Island Rd, Harvard, IL.
