Larry L. Rowe, age 81, of Woodstock, passed away, May 19, 2019, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Marengo, Ill., on March 8, 1938 to Charles and Ruth (Smith) Rowe. He married Cynthia (Carroll) Rowe on Oct. 29, 2005, in Woodstock. Larry enjoyed playing wheelchair basketball and marathons. He met his wife while square dancing in Wisconsin. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States; his favorite place was the beautiful Grand Canyon. Larry was known as a strong go-getter type of person who was always ready for a challenge. Michael (Mike) Thomas Kaminski, 43, passed away surrounded by family at the JourneyCare Hospice Facility in Woodstock, Ill., on May 12, 2019, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mike’s positive spirit and incredible sense of humor helped him fight for every moment with his family and friends until he passed. Mike was born on July 18, 1975, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill. He spent his early years playing dress up with his big sister and learning to fish with Dad and Grandpa Henry. Frances E. Buckley, 88

Frances E. Buckley, 88, entered Eternal Life on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, in Salinas, Calif., where she had lived for the past five years with her daughter. Frances was born to Francis and Nora (Weir) Farrell on Oct. 23, 1930, and graduated from Proviso East High School. She married Edwin J. Buckley of Woodstock Ill., and they had four children. Frances was a bailiff at the McHenry County Courthouse for 24 years. Dorothy M. Cox, 86

Dorothy M. Cox died peacefully in her sleep on April 23 after nearly 87 trips around the sun.. She was born Dorothy Heiden in Blue Island, Ill., on June 23, 1932, and lived there for more than seven decades before moving to Woodstock, Ill. Dorothy lived a beautiful life as a wife, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, reading, watching Cubs and Bears games, volunteering in her community, and spontaneous trips to the Dollar Store. Dorothy preferred cigarettes and Manhattans over gym memberships, and laughter over tears, as she always had a joke to share. She loved her family and friends above all. Dorothy is survived by her children, Kenneth (Simon Blanco) Cox, James (Wendy) Cox, and Cheryl (Fred Markowitz) Cox; grandchildren Christopher Frum, Griffin Cox, Max Markowitz, and Sylvia Markowitz; sister Margaret Mueller; and brother Fred Heiden. Thomas E McGuine, 87

Thomas E McGuine passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Woodstock on May 2, 2019. Born in Harvard, Feb. 14, 1932, to Betty and Raymond McGuine Sr. Tom was the youngest of three children. He graduated from Harvard High School in 1950. He then went into the Navy and served our country for four years during the Korean Conflict. He started college in 1955 at Carthage College in Carthage, Ill., where he met Carol J. Nelson. They were married on Aug. 3, 1957, in Racine, Wis. He finished his B.S. degree in business and graduated in 1959. Ben Rosenfield, age 66, of Woodstock, passed away April 29, 2019, at his home beside his wife. He was born on June 5, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Myer and Eva (Riaf) Rosenfield. He married Laurie (Bain) on Aug. 14, 1971. Ben retired in 2007 after being a teacher and principal for 35 years in Round Lake. Well known locally for his pottery and storytelling, Ben could always be counted on to lend a hand to those who were seeking mentoring and would lend his expertise to the leadership of the many organizations related to those activities. Richard Budd Wormley, 70

Budd Wormley was only 70, so he would have liked to live another decade or two, but he confidently left this earth for “the better place” April 28, 2019. Richard Budd Wormley, Millbrook, was the youngest child of Frances (Budd) and Myron Wormley. He was born Aug. 17, 1948, in Aurora. Budd’s passion was fast cars, big engines, and massive machinery. He learned to drive at age 7. He earned his pilot’s license at age 16. His garages and barns recently stabled a Harley-Davidson, Polaris Ranger, Chevy SS, pickup trucks, tractors, backhoes, bulldozer, blacktop equipment, dump truck, and road grader. Ron Bendis, 68

Ron Bendis was born in Chicago to Edward and Lurine Bendis on Jan. 29, 1951, and died of mesothelioma on April 22. Ron played basketball at Bogan High School in Chicago, playing on the all-city team his senior year, and at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. He graduated in 1973 and worked as a Chicago policeman briefly before pursuing an administrative degree. He taught classes and coached basketball in Ottawa and Woodstock, then became assistant principal at Woodstock High School, a position he held for 26 years. He was honored by the Illinois Principals Association as Assistant Principal of the Year in 2009, and by the District 200 Education Foundation with the Susan Palmore Award of Excellence in 2018.

Mae T. Frederick, 99

Mae T. Frederick of Louisville, Colo., age 99, passed away on April 8. She is loved and remembered by her four children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grand children. Daughter of Edward and Martha Schoeneberger, of Niles Center (now Skokie), Ill. She was the wife of the late Harold Frederick. She is survived by her children, Steven Frederick (Kathy), Jan (David) Waltz, Sue (Stephen) Mundorff, and Cathy (John) McLaughlin, and her sister, Luella Smith. She was the proud grandmother of Michael, Jeff, Megan, Jenny, Kirsten, Allison, Patrick, Colin and Liam and great-grandmother of Oliver, Owen, Natalie, and Julia Mae. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; brothers Edward and Roger Schoeneberger; and sister Betty Wetendorf. Mae attended Mundelein College
