Margaret Magdalene Grell, age 74, of Woodstock, passed away Oct. 26, 2020, after a courageous battle with illness. She was born on Jan. 6, 1946, in Chicago, Ill. She married the love of her life, Edwin A. Grell, on July 18, 1970, and together they built a life and family filled with boundless love, joy, and laughter. She is survived by her husband, Edwin; sons Thomas (Annette) Grell and Jonathon (Jacqueline) Grell; daughter Jennamarie (Travis) Test; grandchildren Jerred, Alexandria, Edwin, Bradley, Nicholas, William, and Kaitlyn; brothers Stanley, Glenn and Arthur, sister Genevieve; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is proceeded in death by her parents, Magdalene, and Anthony Covelli, and her brother, Anthony Covelli Jr.  She was well known

Betty Jane (Rasmussen) Mishler, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Woodstock, Ill., on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020. Betty was born July 25, 1924, in Marengo, Ill., to Sewald and Agnes Rasmussen.  She met the love of her life, Dean Mishler, at the roller rink in Marengo. She always joked “they had been going round and round ever since.” They married on Feb. 9, 1946, at Zion Lutheran Church. They lived a fun-filled, adventurous 66 years of marriage. Betty was a homemaker and raised three boys. She loved to cook and bake. She loved going to church, playing cards, and socializing. She loved reading her Bible every morning and evening. Charles E. Leucht, 92, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully in his sleep late Thursday afternoon, Sept. 17, 2020. He was born June 9, 1928, in Peoria to William and Lona (Schneider) Hammitt and adopted by Walter H. Leucht in 1938 after his mother remarried. Several of his early years were spent at Guardian Angels Orphanage during the Depression years. He was a member of the 1947 class of Spalding Institute and a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1948. Chuck married Jacquelyn Conger on July 9, 1950, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Chicago and served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Reserves for four years during the Korean War. Steven M. Lilja, age 60, of Woodstock, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, at Northwestern Hospital-McHenry. He was born in Harvard on May 21, 1960, to George and Marilyn (Nelson) Lilja. He was a man of faith and opened his heart to many people. As owner of Final Phase Construction company, he prided himself in doing fine work. He was loved and will be missed by all. He is survived by his parents; a son, Christopher (Rebecca) Lilja; two granddaughters, Savannah and Sienna Lilja; a brother, Scott (Doreen) Lilja; two nieces, Rhiannon Lilja and Tyler (Jaime) Cassidy; a great-niece, Hadleigh; and great-nephew, Noah. Alan Duane Cornue passed away at the age of 82 on Sept. 22 at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee after a long illness. As one of four siblings,Alan grew up in Hebron, Ill., the son of Stanley and Meta (Felbeck) Cornue. He attended Hebron Schools & graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting and continued his education earning his master’s degree in taxation from DePaul University in Chicago. In 1966, Alan married Bonnie Robinson (Genoa City) and moved to Woodstock, Ill., where they resided for many years.  Alan began his career working for the IRS as a special agent in the Chicago office before switching to the auditing division. June 27, 1928–Aug. 8, 2020 Gladys M. Dockery, age 92, died peacefully on Aug. 8, 2020, at the home of her niece Ruth in Round Lake, Ill. Born in Darlaston, South Staffordshire, England, to Henry and Annie May Moreton. She lived in the Wonder Lake/Woodstock area for 61 years and most recently was a resident at The Cottages of Fox Lake. Gladys enjoyed 20+ winters in Arizona with her late sister, Harriet.
