David Wilbur Manke

David Wilbur Manke, 57, Hebron, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock. He was born July 6, 1955, in Woodstock to Wilbur and Loretta (Lenzen) Manke. On May 15, 1976, he married Denise L. Gibbs in Woodstock. He worked in construction and was a member of the Labor Union Local 1035 for 28 years.  He also worked as a farmer for more than 50 years. He liked auctions and flea markets and enjoyed restoring tractors and going to tractor shows. He loved his flower gardens and woodworking. Robert Henry Wohnrade

Robert Henry “Bob” Wohnrade, 77, Bull Valley, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock, with his family by his side after a courageous eight-year battle with Lewy body dementia. He was born April 12, 1935, in Chicago to Harold and Vera (Kline) Wohnrade. On Aug. 24, 1957, he married Ruth Schaefer at St. Patrick Catholic Church. His family moved to Wonder Lake when he was in the fourth grade. He attended Harrison School and was a 1953 graduate of McHenry Community High School and a 1957 graduate of Valparaiso University School of Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.  He was a licensed engineer in

Rosalie Romano

Rosalie “Randy” Romano, 81, Wonder Lake, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Chicago to Stanley and Louise “Ludwika” Marzek. On Aug. 11, 1951, she married Daniel Joseph Romano in Chicago. Formerly of Chicago, she worked for Brach’s Candy Co. in Chicago and also received CNA training. After moving to Wonder Lake in 1975, she focused on her family and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed playing bingo, taking car trips with her husband and, in later years, taking bus trips with other seniors. Their favorite destinations were casinos. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, McHenry. She was a passionate supporter for more than

James Kosirog

James “Jim” Kosirog Jr., 58, Wonder Lake, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1954, in Chicago to James Sr. and the late Pauline (Chowaniec) Kosirog.  On Feb. 16, 1980, he married Kimberly “Kim” O’Brochta in Chicago. He was a proud Navy veteran and dedicated Warrior Watch Rider. He was employed by CBOE for almost 30 years. Survivors include his wife; father; a daughter, Jillian (William) Sublette; a son, Michael (Amanda) Kosirog; three grandchildren, Dustin Sublette, James Jonathon “JJ” and Lukas Kosirog; a brother, David (Barbara) Kosirog; a sister,  Cindy (Ron) Malcolm; and many nieces and nephews. Frank A. Kimble

Frank A. Kimble, 67, Woodstock, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 27, 1944, in Roseau, Minn., to Jerome and Edna Kimble. He married Marlene Filip in October 1966.  He loved to work on cars and tinker in his garage. He was employed by Peet Frate Line for more than 30 years. After retirement, he worked part time for Hartland Township. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michelle; two sons, Waylon (Judi) and Brian (Robyn); and four grandchildren, Tyler, Sterling, Sturgis and Jacob. Steven P. Bartolone

Steven P. Bartolone, 85, formerly of Woodstock, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Lincolnshire. He was born Oct. 3, 1927, in Chicago to Salvatore and Rose (Speciale) Bartolone.  On Nov. 6, 1954, he married Dolores Marie Waldmueller in Chicago. He was a proud World War II U.S. Army veteran. He will be missed and his memory will be cherished. Survivors include four sons, Steven (Doreen) Bartolone, Ingleside, Michael (Linda) Bartolone, McHenry, William Bartolone, Woodstock and John (Jennie) Bartolone, South Carolina; two daughters, Susan (Michael) Rankin, Greenville, S.C., and Julie (James) Wagner, Vernon Hills; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Domenica “Mae” Rinozzi. Evelyn K. Rutherford

Evelyn K. Rutherford, 80, Wonder Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at her home. She was born July 21, 1932, in Chicago to Walter and Mary (Zgrzebnicka) Ksiazek. She moved to Wonder Lake in 1991.  She was employed as a clerk for Illinois Bell, downtown Chicago, for 30 years and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She enjoyed tending her flower garden. Survivors include two nieces, Gerry (Tom) Crawford, Fox Lake, and Christine (Kraig) Barkley, Crystal Lake; and many great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Rutherford, in 2000; her parents; a sister, Lottie Pasko; two brothers, Chuck and Felix; and a nephew, Robert Pasko. Visitation was Dec.

David Alan Schmidt

David Alan Schmidt, 74, Greenwood, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Hearthstone Manor Nursing Home, Woodstock. He was born March 15, 1938, in Woodstock to William H. and Edith (Gorham) Schmidt.  On Aug. 21, 1965, he married Judith A. Walther in Chicago. He served in the National Guard from 1961 to 1966. He worked as a carpenter and was owner of David Schmidt Construction for many years. He also was a volunteer fireman with the Woodstock Rural Fire District from 1965 until 1980 and a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden and loved all his pets.  He was loved by many and will be missed. Wesley “Wes” A. Pribla

Wesley “Wes” A. Pribla, 96, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Woodstock, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at his daughter’s home in Granger, Ind. He was born Nov. 15, 1916, in New York, N.Y., to Anton and Eugenia (Charytanska) Pryzbyla. On May 30, 1946, he married Lorraine R. Cyze in Chicago. He was the owner of the Wesley Fur Shop on the Square in Woodstock. He developed dairy pre-forming equipment and was the owner-president of Weslor Manufacturing in Woodstock. He retired to Lakeland in 2000. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, VFW, Elks, Moose and Knights of Columbus in Woodstock. Gilbert Warren Nienow

Gilbert Warren Nienow, 90, Woodstock, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at his home in Woodstock, with his wife of 64 years at his side. He was born May 26, 1922, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Albert C. and Viola (Peuser) Nienow. On Sept. 5, 1948, he married Venus Woody in Pleasant Hill, Mo. He entered the U.S. Army in October 1942 and served in France, Germany and England. He was honorably discharged in March 1946. He met his future wife at an Army dance at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. After their marriage, they lived in Barrington until moving to Woodstock in 1953. He enjoyed gardening, archery, golf, square dancing and photography. He was proud to have worked in Boy Scouts with
