Jacqueline Savalick

Jacqueline Savalick, 59, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born April 19, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.  On June 7, 2002, she married Max Savalick in Woodstock. She was a devoted employee of Prem Magnetics of Johnsburg for 28 years. As a quality control manager, she loved and was loved by all her co-workers. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Pamela (John) Van Fleet; two stepchildren, Marissa (Chad) Gresham and Adam (fiancée Jennifer Swanson) Savalick; nine grandchildren, Kaleb, Lilly and Gabriel Van Fleet, Amber, Alexander, Lucy and Paige Gresham and Christopher and Emily (on the way) Savalick. Janice Carter

Janice Carter, 65, Woodstock, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at her home at Sheltered Village. She was born March 19, 1948, in McHenry to John and Evelyn Carter. She was a resident of Sheltered Village for the past 12 years. She was active at both Pioneer Center and Rail in Woodstock. She was a very happy person and always had a smile. Everyone loved her. She was funny and pleasant to be around and loved to eat. Survivors include a sister-in-law, the Rev. Janie Long-Carter, and all her friends at Sheltered Village. Arlene Rose Bechtold

Arlene Rose Bechtold, 97, Union, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at JourneyCare Hospice in Woodstock. She was born March 26, 1916, in Woodstock to John and Rose (Schultz) Seagrist. She was raised in Woodstock by her father and her stepmother, Minnie. She was a very caring and giving mother. She loved music and playing organ. Her sense of humor and generosity will be remembered forever.  Survivors include a son, Thomas Bechtold; two daughters, Mary Ann Kendrick and Judy (Rick) Lamz; a stepdaughter, Shirley (Donald) Stanley; a brother, John (Barbara) Seagrist; two stepgranddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerich Bechtold, in 1998; her parents; two brothers, Howard Seagrist and Eldon Seagrist; and a

Ruth Jean Gonzalez

Ruth Jean Gonzalez, 78, Woodstock, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at home. She was born July 16, 1935, in Chicago to Rossman and Florence Kees.  On June 26, 1982, she married Anthony Gonzalez in McHenry. She was a resident in McHenry County for more than 40 years. For 20 years, she was a dedicated employee at Serve-All in Crystal Lake.  She was a member of the Fox Lake Lions Club and she loved to be with her large extended family and they loved being with her. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karen (Don) Beyer; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann Ruggero

Mary Ann Ruggero, 87, Wonder Lake, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Kendall, Mich., to John and Josephine (Regula) Kiss. She was raised on a farm. Her family moved to Chicago, where she attended Wells High School, followed by St. Elizabeth Hospital Nursing School, becoming a registered nurse. On Jan. 4, 1947, she married Santo Lucio Ruggero, M.D.,at St. Sylvester Catholic Church of Chicago. She and her husband moved to Wonder Lake in 1950 and set up their home and private medical practice. Russell L. Stieg

Russell L. Stieg, 74, Milwaukee,  formerly of Woodstock, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Woodstock. He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Unit. He was a longtime employee of Capitol Engineering, a division of Mercury Marine. He retired in 2004 and enjoyed spending his time fishing. Survivors include a son, Jeffrey (Laurel) Stieg; a stepson, Steven Kriofsky; a grandson, Colton Stieg; the mother of his son, Peggy Lydic; a sister, Elaine (Robert) Steinwehe; a nephew Keith Steinwehe, Woodstock; a niece, Renee (Brian) Trei; and two great-nephews, Nick and Alex Trei, Charlotte, N.C. Frederick W. Noble

Frederick W. Noble, 87, Woodstock, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at home. He was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Richmond to Fred and Edna (Smith) Noble. On Sept. 4, 1949, he married Rae Carlson in Woodstock. He worked as a machinist for Arnold Engineering and was a shop steward and member of local 1832 International Machinists and Aerospace Workers until his retirement in 1993. He also worked as a mechanic on the Chicago North Western Railroad. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in England, France and Germany from 1943 to 1945. Delores May Swanson

Delores May Swanson, 53, Woodstock, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at her home in Woodstock, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 4, 1960, in Elgin to Alan and Gladys (Henrys) Swanson. She was raised on a local dairy farm where values, a hard-working attitude and love of family were instilled in her. She was a teacher for Alden-Hebron School District 19 for more than 28 years.   She held masters degrees in administration as well as reading. She loved working with the students, parents, teachers and staff at Alden-Hebron District 19.   She was a very dedicated, talented, caring, giving and supportive person who always was willing to take on any challenge and become involved in anything that

Barbara A. Walker

Barbara A. Walker, 71, Woodstock, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford. She was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Chicago to Anthony and Beatrice (Sobie) Zane.   On Aug. 21, 1965, she married David Walker in Mt. Prospect. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock.   She loved flowers of all kinds. Her favorite hobby was working side-by-side with her husband making beautiful flower gardens. She also looked forward to the annual family vacation to Minnesota. It was a place of many happy memories. Her life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.  She was a loving wife and a devoted mother

Albert Ronne Baumann

Albert Ronne Baumann 74, Mission, Texas, formerly of Woodstock, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock. He was born June 6, 1939, in Fargo, N.D., to Albert and Isabel (Anderson ) Baumann.  He married Marguerite Fitzgerald. He graduated from Worsham College in 1987 with a degree in mortuary science. He was a former partner at Schneider-Leucht,-Merwin, & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock, and was formerly employed at Union Special, Huntley. He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Woodstock Elks. He was a resident of Tropical Valley Acres, Mission Texas, and served as president and member of the board. He also was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Mission. He enjoyed golf and fishing
