Judith Ellen Miles

Judith Ellen (Ream) Miles, 72, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at her home.

She was a true friend to all who knew her and co-founder of Miles Data Technologies, the family business. Remembered by all who knew her for her caring, kindness and tireless support for others, as well as her laughter and smile, she was active in church, school and business organizations throughout her life.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, William B. Miles; six daughters, Julie Ann (Charles) Riley, Mary Beth (Robert) Ladd, Christine Marie (Gary) Ives, Kathleen Margaret (Stephen) McCarley, Jennifer Ann Miles, and Megan Patricia (Jason) Hahn; a son, Andrew William (Laura) Miles; 17 grandchildren, Kaitlin, Timothy, Colleen, Cara, Brian, Erin, Nora, Jacob, Henry, Daniel, Spencer, Logan, Griffin, Alex, Peter, Abigail and Lucia; two sisters, Patricia Ream (Paul) Michel and Norma Ream (Robert) Yamaguchi; and many nephews, nieces, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Miles, who died in infancy; her parents, Norman and Judith Ream; and her half-sister, Ruth Roche.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 313 N. Tryon St., Woodstock. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date.
