WHS begins search for new head coach

After three years of heading up the Woodstock High School varsity football team, Tommy Thompson announced his resignation as head coach of the Blue Streaks. Thompson cited a desire to spend more time with his family as the reason for his decision.

After informing WHS Athletic Director Chris Kirkpatrick of his decision, Thompson called a meeting to talk to his team.

“He had a great relationship with our kids,” said Kirkpatrick of Thompson. “I’d like to thank him for his time and devotion to the program and wish him the best going forward.”

WHS will be accepting applications for the head coaching position through Friday, Dec. 8. All interested nondistrict employees can apply online at the Woodstock District 200 website, woodstockschools.org. Questions should be directed to Kirkpatrick via email, dkirkpatrick@wcusd200.org.
