Wayne R. Greis

 

Wayne R. Greis, 69, Woodstock, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington.

He was born Sept. 24, 1942, in Chicago to Raymond Julius and Lorraine (Rietschel) Greis. On July 26, 2003, he married Kathy Koltz.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1970, stationed at Fort Bougival, France.  He served in the 12th Special Forces Reserves.He was an active member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge No. 1329.

He worked in security for Morton Chemical Company. An avid fisherman, he invented a fishing tool called the Hooker.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; his children, Jodie Greis, Michele Crosswhite and Katie (Brett) Aulwes and Chad Wille; two sisters, Jeanne Greis and Judy (Jim) Bujniewicz; a grandson, Landon Aulwes; two nieces, Denise Johnson and Tracy Bujniewicz; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law, Corky.

A memorial gathering was held April 5 at the Woodstock Moose Lodge. Arrangements were made by Schneider, Leucht, Merwin, & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
