Virginia ‘Ginny’ Danielson, 86

On the morning of Nov. 29, 2022, Virginia “Ginny” Danielson passed away peacefully in her home.
She was born in Elgin on Aug. 14, 1936, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Bahr) Wilke. She married Bernard Danielson in 1955.
Ginny graduated from Marengo High School and worked for Busse Florist in Woodstock, then went on to work in food service as a cook for the Northwood School District 200.
Ginny was very talented and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, cake decorating, cooking, and baking. She was involved in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and bowling. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the NCHA Woodstock chapter as a Woodstock Woodchuck and card club with the neighbors. Later in life she enjoyed spending her summers at the lake in St. Germain, Wis., and winters in Texas with her brother Gordon and sister-in-law Bonnie. Her highlight of retirement was a seven-week trip to Alaska, also with her brother and sister-in-law.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bernard; three children, Deb (Mario) Ramirez, Connie (Stuart) Snow, and Scott (Susan) Danielson; five grandchildren, Kiker (Jen Wendt) Geng, Kyle (Kellie) Snow, Bret Snow, Brendan Danielson, and Kendall Danielson; three great-grandchildren, Huxley, Henrik, and Margot Snow; half-brother, Wayne (Dianne) Wilke; and three stepbrothers, Vernon (Vi) Seelhoff, Charles (Barb) Seelhoff, and Ron Seelhoff.
She was preceded by parents; brothers, Gordon and Jim; and her stepmother, Hettie.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church, 401 St. John’s Road, Woodstock, IL 60098. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
