Tige Charles Schmeer

Tige Charles Schmeer, 41, formerly of Woodstock, died Monday, May 5, 2014, in Borrego Springs, Calif.

He was born Feb. 18, 1973, to Karl G. and Gail E. Schmeer, in Woodstock.

He spent the majority of his life in and around Woodstock and had recently moved to southern California from Sharon, Wis. He attended Woodstock schools and was an accomplished musician, vocalist, artist and tradesman. He attended the East Delavan Baptist Church in Delavan, Wis. 

Survivors include his mother; step-father, Michael Thompson; one brother; Michael Schmeer, Woodstock; and his wife and their daughter, Nikki Hillesheim, and her son, Caleb Ostryzniuk, McHenry; two step-brothers, Brian Thompson, Cape Coral, Fla., Brent Thompson, Massachusetts; two step-sisters, Michelle Cassens, North Lauderdale, Fla., and Laura Grable, Naples, Fla.; a grandmother, Cleota Calvert, Woodstock; a step-grandmother, Virginia Zeckser, Stewardson; an uncle, Eldor Zeckser, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; two aunts, Janell Liscio, Mocksville, N.C., and Connie Thennes, McHenry; a step-uncle, Jeffery Calvert, Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Karl Eckhart Schmeer and Marion Dorothy Jacquot Schmeer; his paternal grandfather, Eldor Zeckser, and step-grandfather, Harold Calvert; and an uncle, Charles Zeckser; and a first cousin, Cynthia Parva.

A celebration of life memorial service was held June 21 at Doxa Fellowship, Woodstock, officiated by the Rev. Stephen K. McCoy.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date when he will be buried next to his “papa,” Eldor Walter Zeckser, in Union Cemetery, Mode.

Arrangements were by Trinity Funeral Services and Cremation Services Inc., Vista, Calif.
