Susan M. Sincere, 75, Woodstock

Susan M. Sincere, 75, Woodstock, formerly of Palatine, died Friday, July 8, 2016, at JourneyCare Hospice Inpatient Unit in Woodstock.

She was born Sept. 6, 1940, to Raymond and Genevieve (Sturch) Carroll in Chicago. 

On May 5, 1962, she married Paul Sincere in Evanston.

For more than 38 years she and her husband lived in Palatine and were members of St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church. In 2003, they moved to Woodstock and became members at St. Mary Catholic Church and volunteered with many church activities. She especially enjoyed playing bridge with her church group. She had worked in the human service department at United Stationers.

She enjoyed working on genealogy. Her best times were spent with her family and especially the grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Edward (Shayla) Sincere; two daughters, Elizabeth Lawrence and Joan (Brian) Turskey; eight grandchildren, Charles, Alex, Drake Lawrence, Amanda, Ashlynn and Edward Jr. Sincere, and Grace and Joshua Turskey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, Bob Carroll, Nancy Lewan, Meg Cuyjet and Judy Carroll.

The visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Woodstock.

Memorials can be made to St. Vincent DePaul or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
