Susan Jane (Daly) Grossman, 76, Woodstock, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in Woodstock.
She was born Oct. 9, 1940, to James and Rita (Close) Daly in Evanston, and raised in Johnsburg.
She was a 1958 graduate of McHenry High School. She worked for nearly 20 years at Science Research Associates in Chicago, served for 23 years on the Woodstock Rescue Squad and worked for five years at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock.
She was a lover of books and fine culture, but also a down-to-earth gal who loved sewing and country and western music.
Survivors include three children, Tracy Susan Grossman, Lake Geneva, Wis., Kurt J. Grossman, Woodstock, and Joseph ‘Jamie’ (Heather) Grossman; two grandchildren, Samuel Wall and Molly Susan Grossman; siblings Harriet (Finn) Nor, Lake Geneva, James (Carole) Daly, Onalaska, Wis., and Theresa (James) Waller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings, Mary Rita (Larry) Feezel and Patrick James Daly.
Visitation was April 17 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Internment was at Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock.
