Sharon Browne, 85

Sharon Browne, age 85, of Woodstock, Ill., passed away on Tuesday March 16, 2021, She was born Jan. 4, 1936, to Rudolph and Esther Kren. She was married to Chuck Browne on Nov. 20, 1971.

Sharon graduated from the University of Wisconsin­-Milwaukee, with a degree in education. She taught at Fisher Elementary School in Wauwatosa, Wis. Over the years, she and her family lived in Arlington Heights, Ill., Evansville, Ind., Franklin, Wis., Brentwood, Tenn., Peachtree City, Ga., and Woodstock. 

She enjoyed having fun with her three grandsons, and her winter vacations with her husband in the desert of southern California. She loved playing golf and hit three holes-in-one at Rancho Casa Blanca Golf Course in Indio, Calif. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 50 years, Chuck; two children. Michael (Brigid), Park Ridge, Ill., and Amy, Denver, Colo.; three grandsons, Hayden, Patrick, and Brendan Browne; a sister-in-­law, Joan Holman; and brother, Bruce Kren. 

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday March 22, 2021, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098. The funeral will be at St. Mary Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock, on Monday, March 22, at 11 a.m., with Father Burt Absalon officiating.
