Scott Steiger, formerly of Woodstock Illinois, passed away on January 12, 2025. Born on February 11, 1969 in Elgin, Illinois to William III and Kathleen (Plazewski). Scott grew up in Hanover Park before moving with his family to Woodstock in 1977. He attended Northwood Middle School and Woodstock High School where he was involved with the wrestling, football, and baseball teams.
Scott was a die-hard Chicago Cub and Seattle Seahawks fan. Through every season, win or lose, Scott’s spirit and love for his teams was unwavering. A true lover of nostalgia, Scott found solace in the classics—old TV shows and movies that brought back fond memories, and video games that provided hours of entertainment. Whether navigating through a pixelated adventure or laughing at the antics of Roscoe and Boss Hog chasing the Duke Boys, Jack Tripper trying to stay out of trouble with Mr. Furley, or Marty and Doc trying to get back to 1985.
Scott was also an enthusiastic entrepreneur who ran an online store with his best friend. Scott found great enjoyment in collecting and selling, providing something nostalgic, unique, or notable to his customers.
But perhaps most of all, Scott was an avid food connoisseur of the classics. A hot dog aficionado, cinnamon roll enthusiast, pizza and shrimp lover, Scott could always be found with a plate of his favorites. Those meals will forever be a reminder of the warmth, laughter, and love that defined Scott’s presence. Scott’s laughter and loving spirit will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Scott is survived by his son Luke (Ashley); parents William III and Kathleen; brother William IV (Julie); sister Cynthia (Stephen); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his uncle Michael Plazewski; cousin Majorie Dahl Matchinksi; cousin Barbara Dahl Saletta, and grandparents.
