Sandra Kay Mass

Sandra Kay Mass, 73, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and a former resident of Woodstock, died June 11, 2018.

She was born June 2, 1945, in Los Angeles to Harry and Mary Alice Miller. She married Jerry D. Mass on June 27, 1964, and they moved to Woodstock. She worked many years at Woodstock Die Casting until it closed, when they moved to Iowa. Sandy was an animal lover and always wanted to take in unwanted dogs. She loved gardening and cooking.

Survivors include her husband of almost 54 years, Jerry; five children, Tammy Thomas, Dennis (Pam) Mass, of Council Bluffs, Kristine (Terry) Magnuson, of McClelland, Iowa, Jerry A. (Julie) Mass, of Braidwood, and Michael (Ana) Mass, of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren, Lafe and Macklin Thomas, Samantha, Brandon and Tabatha Magnuson, Tucker, Maxine and Toby Mass, Meghan and Cody Mass, and Destany, Ariel, Alyna, Aubrey and Michael Jr. Mass; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Maggie, Linda, Harriet and Marion; a brother, Harry Jr., of Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Judy) Mass, of Wonder Lake, and Stanley (Debbie) Mass; a sister-in-law, Eleanor (Edward) Station, of Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Butch and Suzy.

Services were held June 15 in Council Bluffs.
