Rudolph H. Reymann

Rudolph H. Reymann, Elgin, formerly of Wonder Lake, died Monday, April 27, 2015, at his daughter’s home in McHenry. 

He was born Aug. 21, 1931, to Carl and Anna (Hoffman) Reymann in Chicago. 

On March 10, 1951, he married Mary Frances Johnson. 

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. 

He was a founding member of the Highland Shores Rescue Squad, Wonder Lake. He was a trustee for the Wonder Lake Fire Department where he served as captain. He served as a trustee in Greenwood Township. He was a lifetime member of the Woodstock Moose and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid motorcyclist and an award-winning photographer. 

Survivors include two sons, Gary (Christine) Reymann and Michael Reymann; a daughter, Debra (James) Gigl; three grandchildren, Shannon Reymann Golat, Garrett (Abbie) Reymann and Taylor Gigl; and two great-grandchildren, Barbara and Joey Golat. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Heinz Reymann; and a beloved friend, Dee Bordner. 

Visitation was April 30 and the funeral was May 1 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Burial was at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock. 

Memorials can be made to the Wonder Lake Fire Department or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
