Robert (Bob) Webster, 85

Robert (Bob) Webster, 85, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2025, at Valley Hi Nursing Home.

He was born on April 21, 1940, in Harvard, Ill., to Bernard and Eleanor Webster. He married Diana (Alvarez) Webster on Feb. 27, 1960; she preceded him in death on Ja. 19, 2021.

Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandpa and great-grandpa. He and Diana were blessed with four children: Theresa (Dan Buss), Daniel (Beth), Ralph (Kristen), and Heather (Brett Heidtke).

His greatest joy was becoming grandpa to his eight grandchildren: Jarrad (Becky), Jamie (Rob Ehlenburg), Tyler (Kate), Bryce (Allie), Tate, Taylor (Kayla), Payton, and Aj; as well as his 15 great-grandchildren: Sophia, Oliver, Hudson, Patton, Ari, Boden, Magnolia, Hazel, Juniper, Miranda, Bentley, Addison, Carson, Jackson, and Mollie. He cherished all of them immensely and loved watching the paths their lives were taking.

Bob worked for several years at R&B Metals and Nissan, and later at Follett, until his retirement. He was an avid runner and had the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch for both the Summer and Winter games. He also served as president of the Woodstock Dolphins Swim Team for several years.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Bob is survived by his sister, Jody (Pat McCormick); his sister-in-law, Maria Alvarez-Varilla; and his brother-in-law, Alex (Barb) Alvarez, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Bernard Webster; his second dad, Harry; his beloved daughter-in-law, Sheri; his brother, Dick; and his brother-in-law, Pat.

Burial will be on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. at McHenry County Memorial Park, 11301 Lake Ave. (U.S.. 14), Woodstock, where Bob and Diana will be brought back together in eternal life.

Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at a celebration of life from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Woodstock Moose Lodge, 406 Clay Street, Woodstock, where we will gather to share stories and favorite memories of a life well lived. Please join us as we come together to honor the lives of both Bob and Diana and legacy left in all of us. Refreshments will be served.
