Robbie L. Carter

Robbie L. Carter, 91, Woodstock, formerly of Arlington Heights, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Florence Nursing Home, Marengo.

She was born March 2, 1921, in Brownfield to Charles and Effie (Waters) Trovillion.

On March 26, 1939, she married Gerald Carter in Crown Point, Ind.

She moved to Chicago and worked for Montgomery Ward until her family became her priority.

She lived in Arlington Heights from 1948 until 1981.

She was a stay-at-home mom and loved to bake and cook for her family. She was active in the Homemakers Club, where she served as secretary.

She retired with her husband to southern Illinois and loved taking walks on the family property, before returning to northern Illinois.

She stayed up-to-date with current events and loved to listen to music.

She loved spending time with her family and their dogs.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Dick) Sinatra, Chica, Calif., Linda Mitcheltree, Byron, and Barbara Carter, Woodstock; two grandchildren, Carolyn Sinatra Gregoire and Richard (Katherina) Sinatra; and two great-grandchildren, Steven and Benjamin Sinatra.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; four brothers, Tom, Irvin, Cecil and Joe; two sisters, Mary and Irene; and a son-in-law, Roy Mitcheltree.

Visitation was Oct. 8 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.

The Rev. Paul Nelson officiated.

Burial will be Oct. 11 at Hodgeville-Prospect Cemetery, Golconda.
