Patricia Rico, 46, of Woodstock, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Mexico on Nov. 12, 1971, to Hipolito and Basilia (Ortiz) Beltran. She completed a certificate in accounting in Mexico. She later met and married Jose Rico on Dec. 26, 1992, in Mexico.
Patricia was a loving mother, daughter, wife and friend. She worked as a cook at Hearthstone Communities Assisted Living in Woodstock and enjoyed baking delicious desserts for the residents. Her smile was contagious, and she was loved by many of the residents.
She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed beautifying her home according to the season. An amazing self-taught cook, Patricia loved to share her amazing recipes with her friends and family, especially during family birthday parties.
She was the life of the party and had a passion for dancing to her favorite songs. Her smile was addictive and her laugh contagious. Patricia will be remembered as a loving and kindhearted individual who was always willing to help others in need before thinking of herself.
She is survived by her children, Stephany Rico, Alan Rico, and Brian Rico; beloved dogs, Maggie, Luca, Toby; her brothers and sisters, Juan Roberto Beltran, Gerardo Beltran, Hipolito Beltran, and Rosa Ramirez; her brother-in-law, Jesus Rico; as well as a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rico; and her father, Hipolito Beltran.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The visitation will continue at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass Friday, Oct. 19. Interment will follow in the McHenry County Memorial Park cemetery in Woodstock.
Flowers may be sent to the Funeral Home. Patricia’s wish was that family and friends wear white.
