Patricia M. Mayer (nee Milner), 77, Richmond, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012.
She was a graduate of the University of Manchester in England, where she earned a degree in languages. She met Andrew Mayer while he was stationed overseas, and they were married in 1961 in Maidstone, England. Later she became a registered nurse at Queen Anne’s Hospital in London.
During her time in Richmond, she was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She also was a familiar face at the Cubby Hole Cafe for 25 years.
She was the wife of Andrew W. Mayer; mother of Catherine (Byron) Peterson and Elizabeth (Victor) Garcia; and grandmother of Andrew Bays, Eric and Carl Peterson, Victor and Matthew Garcia, Rebecca (Joseph) Kijak, and the late Adam Bays.
The visitation and funeral were held Aug. 15 at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment was private.
