Nancy L. Sass

Nancy L. Sass, 78, Marengo, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at The Springs at Crystal Lake, surrounded by her family.  She was born March 2, 1934, in Elgin to John and Stella (Frisbee) Dall. 

On Oct. 15, 1955, she married Edward F. Sass in Norridge Park. She was a member of the Woodstock Assembly of God Church and also attended The Rock Assembly of God Church. 

She loved and supported many ministries throughout her life and was a prayer leader for the Women’s Aglow. She loved cooking and baking as well as gardening. She enjoyed taking care of her husband and their children and grandchildren. She was very involved with her husband’s work in the local farming community and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Edwin (Roberta) Sass, and A. Bradley (Kimberly) Sass; three daughters, Valerie (William) Milborn, Wendy Sass and Annamarie (Toby) Tobias; 16 grandchildren, Karen (Dave) Sonders, Kelly (Mike) Brierley, Kyle (Kelsey) Milborn, Leah (Bret) Kehl, Brian (Julie) VanAcker, Jordan (Victoria) VanAcker, Christopher Sass, Jonathan Sass, Rebekah Sass, Steven Tobias, Megan Tobias, Rachael Tobias, Emily Tobias, Chad Sass, Sarah Sass and Nathaniel Sass; and nine great-grandchildren, Quinn, Anabelle, Cali, Braeden, Adalynn, Canyon, Caitlin, Ryan and Hailee. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 30, 2008; and a son, Edward Alan Sass. Interment will be private.

Visitation was Nov. 16 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Memorials can be made to Seasons Hospice, 606 Potter Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
