Nancy Hahn Fischer

Nancy Hahn Fischer, formerly of Woodstock, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at The Leaves Christian Science Nursing Facility, Richardson, Texas. 

She was born in Chicago and graduated valedictorian from Woodstock High School in 1957. A member of the Kappa Delta sorority of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she graduated valedictorian from Coe College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and music. 

She went on to teach English at Barrington High School, Barrington. It was at this time she met her husband, Noel Fischer. Their marriage of 52 years was founded upon a strong commitment to Christian Science. Nancy and Noel moved to Boston in 1968 where Nancy worked as an advertising representative at the Christian Science Monitor. 

Nancy and her family moved to Richardson in 1972. She enjoyed a 20-plus year career of leading tours to Israel, Jordan, Greece and Turkey with Carroll-Fischer Bible tours. 

She was an active member of the Allen Area Tea Party as well as a board member of Dallas’ Neighborhood Service Council. 

She is survived by her husband, Noel Fischer; two daughters, Lisa and Leslie and their husbands; four grandchildren; one brother; seven dear nieces and nephews; and extended family. There will be a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 14, at The First Church of Christ Scientist, Richardson.
