Nancy Davis, 81

Nancy Davis, 81, of Woodstock, passed away at home in the company of family on June 12, 2021, in Woodstock.

She was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Woodstock to Elmer and Loretta (Beth) Philipp. She married James Davis in 1958 in Woodstock. She and her husband met as students at Woodstock High School.

Her career included administrative, insurance, and office management positions at the Woodstock Title Co., Kishwaukee Valley Medical Group, and the Special Education District of McHenry County, from which she retired. An avid crafter with her own active craft business, she re-created the craft fair at St. John’s Lutheran Church and ran the fair for 10 years.

She and her husband enjoyed road trips, family gatherings, and time spent with their grandchildren and great-grandchild. Most recently, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock and served on a number of committees.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years; a son, Philip (Manuel); daughters, Beth (Steven) and Nora; her grandchildren, Bridget, Jake (Shannon), Margo, Michaela, and Kyle; her great-grandson, William; a sister, Delores Kiger-Smith (Jack); as well as nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Glendon Kiger; and son-in-law, Robert Combs.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 4 to 8: p.m. at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The visitation will continue on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park cemetery in Woodstock.
