Melinda Louise Farrell Rudick

Melinda Louise Farrell Rudick, 66, McCrory and Mountain View, AR, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born May 30, 1951,  to James and Marion Fish Farrell in Woodstock.

On July 6, 1971, she married Cecil Rudick.

She graduated from Marian Central Catholic High and was employed by Illinois Bell for 11 years prior to moving to Arkansas. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was owner of Rudick Hunting and Dog Supply. She was secretary/treasurer for the Arkansas Coon Hunters Association and wrote articles for the American Cooner Magazine.

She was influential in the coon hunting sport, where she was a show judge in U.K.C., A.K.C. and P.K.C. License Bench.  She loved nature in general and knew a lot about birds, trees and plants and could name each one. Rudick loved reading, playing the fiddle and old-time folk music. Most of all, she loved being with her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, McCrory and Mountain View, a son, Adam (Petie) Rudick, McCrory; a daughter, Amanda (Brian) Austin, McCrory; a brother, Richard (Cindy) Farrell, Woodstock; a sister, Carol (Steve) Hrncar, Woodstock; seven grandchildren, Easton (Maggie) Reed, Bald Knob, AR, Addison Rudick, Bauxite, AR, Jake Rudick, Bauxite, Jaxon Rudick, McCrory, Sydney Hall, McCrory, Faith Austin, McCrory, and Mabry Tiner, McCrory; and one great-grandchild, Linley Reed, Bald Knob.

Junior Rudick, Jason Rudick, Jordan Rudick, Ricky Joe Rudick, Curt Faughn, Dale Faughn and Gary Faughn served as pallbearers. The grandchildren, nieces and nephews were honorary pallbearers.

The Rosary and visitation were Dec. 17 at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel, McCrory. The funeral Mass was Dec. 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, McCrory.  Interment was in White Hall Cemetery.
